Any interest in this?

We're thinking about putting on a free show/concert. I've never done anything like this before so it's all foreign to me. I can supply the riders (probably about a dozen) and my friend is bringing the bands and equipment (metal, hardcore). Does anyone have any idea's for a place to hold this at? We're planning on getting a hold of the local bike shops and see if we can get some sponsors for the event, maybe some parts booth's and food or something? Any positive feedback is welcome. I kinda wanna stray away from the normal "stunt show" and make it a sort of jam. If your a spectator you get to eat food, check out what the local shops have on display, listen to some music and watch some guys stunt. For the stunters well we get to ride to live music and perform in front of a crowd of people. Not really looking to make any money out of this just have a good time. I was also thinking maybe involve motorcycle awareness/safety?

Any comments welcome!

Very cool idea Nick.
There's a WAY outside chance that CCC would be into this. My guess is that they'd set up some accessories 'n stuff at the show and perhaps do some advertising for ya. Again, that's just a guess.

I can run it by Jerry (or get you in touch with him) if you'd like. PM me for more details.

As for getting a rider's awareness group involved, the guys at Ride Chicago (sorta like an expensive MSF) are VERY cool. I did a lot of work with them while I was at CCC. They're young guys, and will do almost anything for some advertising/exposure. I'm guessing you could get them to show up as well. Again, not sure what they'd be willing to put up as far as cash etc.

Ride Chicago also has a deal with the United Center to use their parking lot as a training course. I'm not so sure they'd be able to open it up to a stunt show - but it's worth a shot.

...damn, I'm just full of useful shit this afternoon aren't I?

(if any of it pans out I'd better get free tickets and a pit pass!)

Also for ride awareness and training IL harley is a sponsor and they have a rider training group there.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Excellent sometimes at work we'll watch the ride chicago guys teaching. I'll have to put together some stuff and approach them with it next time I'm down there.

Another idea for ya... If you're not concerned about making $$ right now - the easiest way to get some fast support from the community and the sponsors would be to make the whole thing for charity. Have everyone donate $5-$10 at the door and give it all away to the charity of your choice.

This will A) paint a really responsible face on you guys and stunting in general B) allow you to approach places like Subway and see if they'll donate some sammiches for the "cause" C) grease you into using nearly any location for the show - like public property etc.

Everyone likes charity, so that would be an easy way to get this off the ground IMO. Just make sure you use some caution when you're promoting it. Call it a "Stunt Riding Exhibition" or something along those lines. Wear the gear (as much as you can) and preach some safety and you should be all set!

- You might as well hire me to do all the PR and set this up. Clearly I'm on top of the game. Usual manager fees (15%)
