Front plate missing ticket

So my luck continues with getting BS tickets lately. I was parked at the Shedd and I got a ticket for not having front plates on my car. The dealer never got to put them on and I didnt care to. Can I photoshop the pic and fight it?

Nothing to fight! You had no plate. It's THAT simple. You can take the pic and showed you installed it and they MIGHT drop the ticket.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

Not what I said. It's not a moving violation I don't think. Maybe someone can verify this for you. Yes mail the fine and forget about it. If you want to take a pic and go to court and see if they MIGHT possibly drop it, BUT if not the cost will be more. All depends how happy the judge is that day.

That's for you to decide. Personally I would send the $$ and get that damn plate on.

What is it with people not mounting a front plate as required under Illinois Law, then bitching about getting a ticket for it?

That's like parking and not paying for it, then bitching about getting a parking ticket or being towed!

Man up and Pay!. If you don't want the ticket, follow the law.

The state I moved from was 1 plate only, when you buy a new vehicle the mount for the front plate doesnt come with the vehicle. So when I moved here i just mounted the rear plate, since i didnt have the front holder

It's considered a compliance ticket so it won't go on your record. If you show up and show proof that you had the plate mounted then the judge most likely will dismiss it.

Depends on the car. Some cars look awful with front plates. My daily driver didn't even come with a bracket for a front plate. And I'm not about to just drill holes into my bumper and throw a plate there.

It's a stupid law! Most cops are cool about it and don't bother. But Chicago is cracking down now just to get the revenue. They are taking money from people any way they can. They'll make you pay the fine even if you put a plate on now... Another reason I never drive into the city.

Yeah a no front plate ticket and tinted windows ticket are almost givins when you park in the city of chicago. Contest the ticket and mail in a picture witht the contestment. Living in the city I have had about 10 of these until I got it in my stubborn head to just put the fricken plate on.

If you bought your car in IL it came with brackets, maybe not installed but it would have came with them.

I bought my Infinity G35 coupe with no front bracket also from Fletcher Jones DT. It doesn't matter if it does or doesn't come with a bracket it the law to have one on. Trust me you are talking to the king of bending and breaking the law. LOL

It sucks but bend over and pay the piper.

When the wife and I bought her Mini (new), they asked if we wanted to have the front plate installed and said we would have to sign a form if we didn't have them install it.

I don't think anyone said it was a good ticket and worthy of getting but it's the law and quit fucking whining about it.

Some dealers and body shops will just drill right through the bumper. The law doesn't care how you mount a front plate.

You'd think with law makers and the like being so worried about gas mileage they'd dump the front plate law. Having a flat metal plank on the front of your car can't help your mpg.

I said in the tint thread- I'd rather have the front plate law dropped than the tint law. And my daily driver has very dark tint.

Screw that! I'd rather keep the plate and keep the tint. Plates not that big of an issue.

Front plates are ugly and serve no purpose other than giving the fuzz a target for their radars. Which is precisely the reason they're not going anywhere.

I don't care about the tint law but I don't like the front plate law. A plate looks ugly on the front of my Pcar.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
