Construction zone speeding - pay fine or get lawyer?

Wife got a ticket by one of those construction zone vans on 53. 56 in a 45 with a mandatory court appearance ($375 ticket + $135 court cost). She doesn't have any recent tickets, and I'm hoping another ticket isn't mailed to us since that would be 90 day suspension and she would have to quit her job. Anyways. With just this one ticket, should we pay the fine or get a lawyer? I've been reading that there's no way to get out of these tickets in IL.

I would pay it and slow down in the zones. You always hear on the radio when a worker gets killed. No good.

I know, I'm pissed at having to pay it, but I'm more pissed at my wife for doing it. The ticket even says that there were workers around. Slow down, save a life.

Does she recall if she was alone or just keeping up with traffic? If alone, then just pay it. I do not know what other ticket you are referring to, but in the worse case that her license gets suspended, get a lawyer and she can get a judicial driving permit for work purposes.

Good Luck.

Oh that's good to know. That's my biggest fear right now since she just got this new job and it would be horrible for us if she lost it due to not having a license.

Dont worry. Depending on how long ago the last ticket she got was,
she will prolly get court supervision, meaning the ticket does not count against you.

Also, If she does somehow rack up 3, she can still get a permit to drive for work during certain hours.

so chill.

tell the judge you have her commited to community service, when he asks what services you can say,

servicing me (proceed to point to your crotch with your fingers posed like guns)

fist bump the judge and walk out like a pimp.
