You legally have to ride with at least one other "M" licensed, and only during the day.

It totally depends on the LEO and his/her mood at the time. They could let you off with a slap on the hands and a verbal order to go straight home, or you could end up in cuffs with you bike on a tow truck (and then it'll probably get fucked up by the towing company).

Most officers seem to be sympathetic towards new bikers learning how to ride and not always having someone to ride with. I got pulled over several times when I was learning and never had a licensed driver with me - officers never even brought it up and I was never ticketed.

That being said, Shadrach is right in that it is a discretionary call on the part of the officer whether to let you go or really screw up your week. Avoid squidly maneuvers and the officer will never have any reason to go after you.

Yes, it is a good idea to have your M before riding alone. But with that said, I think 80% of us on this board have ridden on just a permit. Avoid Squidly maneuvers as stated above, let me warn you....IT IS HARD to avoid being a squid when some jackass in front of you is doing 25 mph

why wait? If you are 18+ just go to the DMV. Test is not hard (both written and ride). The class is just a bonus by giving you a discount on insurance and by if you don't have your M you get it immediatly. Why risk a case if you dont have to...

Why chance it? You could get in trouble and that won't look good if you're trying to get certain jobs in the Army.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
