105 in a 65 Verdict!!!!

Well I drove about 800 miles round trip today to go to traffic court in Metropolis IL. Got to see the huge statue of superman too. . So I talked to the prosecutor and he told me $150 fine plus court costs. I was fine with that. He also told me that I had set the record for that county this year. That obviously didn't help me. Then I asked about court supervision. He pulls out my 6 page previous traffic violation record and says. " I don't think supervision will make a difference " not sure what that meant. Either he was saying i won't learn my lesson either way, or he was saying it doesn't matter if this ticket is on my record because my record sucks as it is. Either way I got out with my lisence still. two violations this year...can't get another or bye bye license. But I did do traffic school for the first one....so I am not sure if that counts. So maybe I am still home free. Not really concerned about another ticket on my record since my record is horrendous as it is.

if i was you, start keeping your speed down.

when you get revokated you never get your license back, you have to cry, fight, pay thousands, carry high insurance, and get fucked x3 for anything you get pulled over for IF you ever get it back to begin with.

so slow you ass down

Ofcourse I have learned from my experiences. I have learned you have to pay to play. I know I need to slow down. And I do slow down. But we all know that everyone speeds every once in a while. I just always get caught for it.

Been through there a few times... the popo has nothing to do but sit in the bushes and wait for speeders.

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Man looks like you very lucky.
For all of you just watch for cops in Waukegan IL.
Little joyride - 81 on 45, cost me $200, 8 hrs. Traffic school and supervision for 3 months.
Cops and judge in Waukegan are like Gestapo - so beware.

I got 72 on 45 Heading South on Kingery in front of Oak Brook mall, after heading out of Strats WED. The cop was very courtious (<- sp?), and even showed me the radar gun! I could not find my insurance card in my wallet!!

in IL, if you get 3 convictions then you'll get your license suspended. I don't know how it works with interstate tickets or anything like that though. and sometimes it takes a while for the state to catch on that you already have 3+ tickets on record and still have your license, and sometimes they just suspend it without notice (happened to my friend). But if you went to traffic school and got that "off record" then it doesn't count towards the 3 ticket thing IL does.

if you get supervision instead of a conviction, it does not go on your record...and dont need to worry about your license getting suspended

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Could have been much worse. If that ticket had happened in Wisconsin, the fine would have been over $500.00!

Yeah wisconsin sucks. I got a ticket over there for doing 93 in a 70 and the fine was $250!!! I didn't want to pay that so I called the clerk and I had the option of not paying and just getting my license suspended in WI for two years. Since I rarely go to WI I took that option. That was about 4 years back. So I am cool now.

First off, this is Shane, not Paulette. I was the one w/ the 112 in a 55 on 55, in Dupage. Sorry I haven't chimed in about the verdict on mine. In the end it was $500, 3 mos. supervision, and no school. I felt pretty lucky. BTW the last thing on my record was from '98, so that's why the judge was easy on me. He did state that we could ask for either a reduced fine, or supervision, but that supervision would entail the max fine. Pretty cool I'd say for giving us the choice.
Actually he seemed pretty cool all around. He told another guy, who'd been pulled over for driving while revoked to come back at a later date with a lawyer, otherwise he'd have to find him guilty and put him in jail.
