What to do when pulled over......

Probably old news but I thought some of the stuff was interesting, especially the part about getting pulled over.

This is a .PDF file

I like his advice to wave and salute a police officer if you are passing him doing 100mph. Yeah right, I'll do that.

I've talked to cops and they say they are more likely to pull you over if you don't slow down when passing them. The reasoning (and this is from different cops from different states) is that if you slow down when you see a cop you are paying attention to things around you, and will probably keep around the speed limit. If you keep going fast and don't slow down then you aren't paying attention, so the cops will turn around and go after you. Maybe you're drunk or running from something.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Yup, good info, although I don't know if all of the advice is the best for any situation. Sometimes the cop is more likely to give you trouble if you act like a jerk, and remember, they (nearly) always pull you over for a reason. Sure, I've been pulled over when I wasn't breaking the law, and being stopped just for DWB (Driving While Black) through Naperville has no excuse, if they pull you over, they at least suspect something. And if you do get stopped when you were doing 100 you were BREAKING THE LAW, and it wasn't the officer who passed the statute. You should feel like you're cheating the man every second you speed and DON'T get stopped!

Still good info in there. Don't admit to something if you didn't do it or you are confident they can't prove it. The cop could quite likely give you a ticket and you'll probably have to go to court, but it's easily dismissed.

trust me...that's just Naperville, has nothing to do with race. They pulled my mother over just because it was late one day and down right accused and questioned her for drinking...if you knew my mom you would know how funny that is, she doesn't drink at all ever. On NYE she drinks sparkling white grape juice to celebrate

Naperville cops would pull over a pregnant lady in labor driving herself to the hospital and not let her go without a ticket

I passed a cop going in the other direction on a country road in Minnesota during a road race from Milwaukee to Minneapolis. I was doing between 135-140 at the time and waved. He blinked his headlights but didn't follow. I don't think it's because he thought I was a cop. If I had to guess I'd say he knew he had very little chance of catching me.
