Wheelie Ticket

How serious is this? Do I need a lawyer...for a wheelie ticket? It says "operating a motorcycle on one wheel"

Just send in the money for the traffic school option and go to class. that will get you supervision. its about the same level as a speeding ticket, they came up with the operating on one wheel law so they had that to use instead fo the more serious charge of wreckless driving. First time ever they have givien bikers a break.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Is the ticket a local citation or moving violation? If it is a local citation then just pay it. It will not go on your driving record.
HOWEVER, if it is a moving violation issued using a county ticket, then do what Tony says and take the traffic school.

I'm not sure about the driving school thing because I have never taken it, but they always take your license as bond, saying that you are going to show up for court. They let the courts decide if you are guilty. If I were you, I would just ask for supervision if this is your first offense and then take it easy for a while.

Before you enter a plea, ask the judge if he rides. Does not hurt to ask. And if it is a lady judge ask it anyway. Good Luck on them wheelies.

+1 or show up early talk to the prosecutor, ask him if you can get supervision, with out going to traffic school, if you have a clean record, that's a maybe. But with all the crackdowns on the interstate by the popos targeting sportrbikes, you'll most likely get it up the poopchute with a handful of sand.

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

+1

Then the next time you go in, the cop isn't likely to be there. It also doesn't hurt to talk to the prosecutor ahead of time.

In court be real nice to the judge, and ask if you could get court supervision. chances are you'll get it. I've done it shitloads of time.

btw, the whole cop not being there one time or another, it's all bs now. They WILL call in the cop if ya plead not quilty and you're to have a trial at the end of the day.

I got the same ticket last year from a city cop. $120 & 30 court supervision. Of course every judge is different. Since it was short notice I would throw that in their face and ask for court supervision or you want a continuance to retain representation.

What's wrong with wheelies anyway. That's what motorcycles are all about. I think most people like to watch someone riding
