effed

I have a complaint which reads:

"Drove his 2006 suzuki motorcycle at well over 105 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone east bound on interstate 88. The defendant also made rapid lane changes and passed in between vehicles on a two lane roadway. This was done after an attempted traffic stop in an attempt to elude the police. The defendant was able to flee the scene but was later captured at his residence."

Alleged offenses

Fleeing and eluding 625 ILCS 5/11 204(a)
Reckless Driving 625 ILCS 5/11 503

Looking for a good attorney in Kane County.

I have used these guys numerous times, really good lawyers. They called Fred Morelli "Freedom Freddy" when I was in county, and it ain't a lie. These guys rock. They're very well known by the judges also.

I had the same along with 12 other tickets all at once

More than likely they will drop the reckless driving and hit you with the fleeing and eluding (just so they have a record of you doing it) Then, you'll be doing some community service. But....... I was caught red handed. You might be able to beat them all by saying it wasn't you at all..since you made it home. They would have to prove it was you. I guess it depends on how you reacted when they came to your house and arrested you. Did you have full gear on? You can definitely beat it if the cop is asked in court "how can you identify the rider from behind who was wearing a helmet"

This is about the only type of ticket I agree with these guys I hate lawyers and never use them but in this case get a good one and you might actually beat it.

Good luck.

Thanks 95ildesolsi, ill call them monday.

When they came to my house i was polite but refused to let the officer see my bike. I also refused to comment about the situation at all.

I figured my attorney would want it that way.

The officer was incredibly cool about the whole thing. I couldnt believe how nice he was.

On a side note, When i get out of prison I'm going to ride track exclusively.
I just can't obey the law and have fun on a sportbike at the same time.

See ya at the track

Me either ... although I pull over when I get caught breaking the law. I got pulled over for 155 in a 55 ... and only paid a $165 fine, and no lawyer, no court as a matter of fact.

Maybe see about a chastity belt of some sort before court? Just an idea

My friend had the same thing. He got hit with the reckless but the eluding was dropped. The defense was that the mirrors are small and he never even knew the cop was there.

4 months and 2 attorneys later, this is finally over.

I accepted a plea deal which involves,

reckless driving; court supervision, 280$ fine.

fleeing and eluding; stays on my record, 280$ fine

8 hours of traffic school.

No prison, no licence suspension.

I could have pursued this further, but i was kinda sick of going to court all the damn time. It seems like a decent deal to me.

My apoligies to the sportbiking community, we get enough bad publicity as it is, the last thing we need is some idiot like me reinforcing the stereotypes.

I honestly dont know why i did this, those who know me would say im a fairly responsible rider. I was making time on the interstate after a long day of wisc. riding, saw the squad, got scared and bolted.

FYI : state police have access to I-pass camera data which they can retrieve within minutes after a vehicle has passed through.
I went thru at a VERY high rate of speed and the photo was clear as day.

Does you driving record show any of this?? If not, you did pretty damn good. I was doing 113 in a 35 on a back country road when I got caught. I was pulled over and had the license reg, and ins. out before the cop even caught up to me. Cost me 1000.00 + traffic school + 27hrs. community service before they were done with me. 1 year of supervision as well. Sounds like you learned your lesson; so did I by the way.

From what i understand, the reckless will NOT be on my driving record, but the fleeing charge will.

Im not sure if 'fleeing and eluding' is technically a moving violation.
couldn't you do that on foot?

If it is state farm will drop me like a hot potato.

As an added bonus ill probably get the guns drawn, felony stop every time i get pulled over for the rest of my life.
