Out-of-state tickets

How are these generally handled as far as IL records go? Do they affect probation on a previous IL ticket? The state in question is Colorado.

Depends if CO reports to IL with their info. Some states participate in the "good neighbor" policy and report like WI, IN, IA and so forth but I don't think most of the farther states do. I got a ticket in CA while I was racing at Laguna Seca for 88 in a 55 and they never reported to IL. But I was told that if I was ever stopped again in CA I would be arrested. You might want to at least pay the ticket regardless if it goes on your record or not if you plan on being in CO again. Good luck.

I just got one in Ohio. It will be reported to Il. I found out that even if I were to go to "traffic school" I can't get supervision. The State of Ohio won't give supervision for out of State drivers for moving violations.

Not sure about CO.

Call the number on the ticket and ask if they report to IL.

What did you get a ticket for?

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

All I have to say is if you get a speeding ticket in Michigan you better pay it. Don't ask me how I know. Seriously.

The ticket is for 90 in a 55. I thought I was still on a 75. Apparently I need to turn up to court for this one, not just mail in some a check.

Most states report back to your state if it's more than 10 over.

It'll still hit my record, the guy can't make it go away, he can however get it lower than a reckless driving.

Sounds expensive. Try Michael J. Young in Westchester I think. A few years ago he got me out of driving while revoked for $1500. They were talking about putting me in jail for all the speeding tickets I had and 3 driving while suspendeds. I was in court for 5 minutes and walked out with nothing on my record. Not sure how he did it but he made it happen. Worth a phone call at least. Good luck.
