F***ing Parking Bulls**t

Ok, first off -I am fucking pissed right now. I get out to my car this morning and there's an orange thing under my wiper blade. Being a newbie to this area I didn't know this is a City of Chicago parking violation. Great - Fun start to the day.

It said I had an expired meter violation. That may be the case, and to be honest I never saw a meter when we got out of the car. I may go back there today just to see if there was one and I just missed it. The part about this that pisses me off is that it's 8:41 on a Monday night. Who the F*** looks for expired meters that late at night? I've never seen one work that late! And why the hell are they charging $50 for a PARKING ticket?! Ok, I get it that I didn't put in my quarter and now it's gonna cost me 50 bucks. REALLY not happy about it, but not much I can do.

Now the part that really pisses me off is this "above the law" bullshit. I'm at Moe's Cantina or something like that on Clark St with my g/f and since we were in the city we thought we'd stop for a drink. Just as we're getting there, there's about 4 cops that and pulling up in front of the restaurant and parking. One of the cruisers was parked on Clark and his buddies pull up in a second cruiser and blast his siren for laughs. Not really funny because my g/f has sensitive hearing and if my ears were ringing for quite a while after I'm sure her's were hurting too. Well they end up going to the same restaurant that we're at and we both restrained from saying something to them about it but that's not the part that bothers me.

First off, these guys are just hanging out there for like an hour and a half eating and mostly BS-ing. Seems a little long for a break but maybe that's just me. Second of all, I get up and look out the front window towards my car because I get paranoid parking it on the streets in Chicago. Well as I'm looking out the window, I look down the otehr way and see one of the cruisers parked right on the corner between the sign and the corner. So I go out and look further and the other cruiser's parked illegally too on the side street! I don't think much of it because I figure it's a Monday night, not much going on = not a big deal... until I get to my car this morning and see this ticket. How the fuck are they ticketing me for an "expired meter" while these guys are sitting around BS-ing on the clock and have 2 of their cruisers parked illegally a half a block further down the road. When I go out for lunch (or drinks in this case) I don't get to park whever the fuck I want to for however long I want to - why should they? If they are on the clock they shouldn't be taking a hour and a half plus to be eating and if they're off the clock, why aren't they just like everyone else and have to find an actual parking spot?

I'm just pissed about it and I've already heard this welcome to the big city bull shit, and that's not the case here. If I was parked in front of a hydrant or something like that, I can understand ticketing me but this just pisses me off.

Yes Chicago PD blows, get used to it. They are POS assholes. Remember the douchebags in HS that weren't smart enough to go to college. Well they became police officers.

If it makes you feel any better, sunday night I was roller blading on the lake front path. there was a great north breeze and I was flying back from the end toward the exit near the Drake which is near where I parked. Some officers were parked side to side near one of the crossings where the path and the public road intersect. As a motorcyclist, i'm always aware of what's going on and what's coming up so as i'm looking for crossing traffic (even though they are *supposed* to stop) i see these two finish up and one of the officers is about to cross the path. and of course he does and all I see is me being plastered against the side of his car but i'm hoping he will just keep on going. Of course he looks and sees me flying down the path, panics and just stops right on the path crossing. Any of you that blade know that you can't typically stop with a quickness. I'm attempting to slow and swerve around him and my body made it, barely. I'm pretty sure my shorts came in contact with his rear bumper, however i had my arms out in an attempt to help balance and my right arm completely smacked the rear fender of his caprice cruiser. it stung like a b*tch and i'm pretty sure it dented the hell out of the back of his car since there's no support back there for the 4 feet of open body metal. I just kept on going.....

I had respect for them too, but if their car is off, that means they're off duty... correct? If they're off duty, that should make them an everday citizen and they should have to follow the rules like every one else. If they're on duty, then they shouldn't be sitting around for over and hour and a half for dinner.

I'm calming down from earlier but this "higher than thou" attitude I've picked up from just last night is enough to rub me the wrong way...

There's a guy in New York that goes around filming cops that do this, and he posts the videos on youtube and other places. Some are actually pretty funny when he starts yelling at the cops or they get mad cause he is filming them.

There was a local burb, that had that same problem. Citizen filed complaint, papers heard about it front page I believe. Cop was sited and now have noproblems with this.
I understand they may be busy and want a meal, but a hour + with multi cars. Thats are tax dollars they are wasting. They should be held to the law like you and me.
They are also having problem with the camera enforcement, with cops speeding and blowing red lights in some areas. It is coming back to the PD as no call= ticket.

+1
the city pulled that off to a different department.. I guess they had to follow some rules or "laws" when it was being performed by the police.. but when they moved it to the "dept of revenue" they didnt have to anymore... win win!

and regarding what the chicago police officers were doing....

Remember

Chicago cops? No way!
http://www.suntimes.com/news/24-7/10...rbucks.article

Talk about jonesing for a cup of coffee.

A Chicago Police officer has been suspended and ordered into counseling after she was found guilty of demanding free Starbucks coffee from six different stores on the North Side from 2001 to 2004, sometimes flashing her badge, displaying her gun and screaming at employees.

Officer Barbara Nevers of the Belmont police district was suspended for more than 15 months, according to records the Chicago Police Board released Thursday.

On Aug. 24, 2004, she flashed her badge to get free coffee at the Starbucks at 3358 N. Broadway, the board found.

Nevers exhibited similar behavior at Starbucks stores at 2525 1/2 N. Clark, 617 W. Diversey, 1000 W. Diversey, 1700 W. Diversey and 1157 W. Wrightwood — sometimes demanding free coffee, yelling when they refused her demands and showing her weapon, the board found.

On July 12, 2004 at the store at 617 W. Diversey, she took a bottle of juice without paying, the civilian disciplinary panel found.

In June, five members of the police board found her guilty of retail theft, using her position for official gain, unnecessary display of a weapon, mistreatment of a person and other offenses. They voted for Nevers’ 15-month suspension and counseling.

Two board members dissented, saying they would have imposed a stricter punishment, records show.

In other decisions released Thursday by the police board:

— Sgt. Nicholas M. Ortega, 46, was fired after he was found guilty of entering a bar in uniform, giving a ride to an unauthorized person in his squad car and having sex with a woman in or near the sergeants’ office in the Grand-Central police district on the Northwest Side in 2005. Coincidentally, the bar he entered was called Grand Central Station in the 5700 block of West Grand, records show.

— Officer Kevin Waters was fired after he was found guilty of threatening to slit a man’s throat in a bar in southwest suburban Merrionette Park, using a racial epithet and lying to Chicago Police Internal Affairs investigators.

— Officer Cardinal Castillo was fired after he was found guilty of striking a woman in the face and leaving profane voice mails on her answering machine in 2004 and 2005.

— Officer Robert E. Taylor Sr. was fired after he was found guilty of perjury before a judge in 2004. He was accused of being married to two women at the same time.

— Officer Joseph Battaglia was suspended for more than 15 months after he was found guilty of telling Trotter’s to Go restaurant employees in 2004 that he had confiscated “weed” and asked if they wanted some.

It's one of the perks of the job, and yes some do take over the top advantage...but most of the Chicago cops are really good guys. The meter maids that hand out parking tickets are most often a completely separate group of people within the Chicago PD.

Didn't Chicago privatize their meters and parking?
Similar to how they sold/leased the tollways off...
It's easier to increase tolls and parking charges for a company.. than it is for someone running for re-election..
At least that's my take..

+ they can take lots of money up front in big chunks to do with what they wish..

muddy4dsm hopefully those few officers you saw dont give you the impretion that all chicagoland cops are jerks. a good portion of them are good guys its the few a**holes that leave the bad impretion. im kinda wondering what you said to the officers to allow them to restrain you. and as far as long breaks go i work at starbucks and i know that some towns/citys allow theres officers to take there breaks indivdually or all at once and if the officer chooses to take all the breaks at once it can equall up to over an hour. im not sure if chicago is the same way but i do know that some towns around here are.

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

I didn't say anything to them to have restrain me. I restrained myself from saying anything about chirping the sirens for laughs with his buddies.

I want to go double check it but I really don't have any reason to be down by wrigley any time soon. I called them this morning and they don't keep records of what meters shut off at 6 or 7 or 9 so it's just about going down there and checking it out. It's about a 30-45 min drive just to check on the meter. If anyone's near there, I can tell you exactly where I was parked if anyone wants to help out?

it was about a half block south of Red Ivy on Clark right near Wrigley. There's a bus parking area and then a small club (can't remember the name right now) but I was parked DIRECTLY in front of that club. There's some construction on that side of the road (east side I believe) and I was parked right before that construction and was the last spot before the bus parking area. As I got in my car I looked out my window into that club. I guess if someone's been down there lately or lives near there they know what I'm talking about.

And Sunday parking meters are out of control...

Really is that a fact? Do you have proof of this? Can you speak for all the CPD officers in the city of Chicago? I know i know your pissed off cause you fucked up and they smacked you around a little right. Or your had you ass hanging out of your pants while acting like a fool right? Oh wait the common reply It wudnt me right? You know only the ones that are paying attention to the police are the criminals. Law abiding people dont give a fuck what they are doing until they are needed.

Well that is funny cause everyone I know you fucking idiot has a bachelor's or better. Look at the qualification you dip shit before you run your mouth.

You know these cop hating thread make me wanna puke. Get a fucking life already, worry about your shit, and not every one else's. Its the same constant members always throwing out screw the police, fuck them etc etc.

Its pretty simple follow the rules and you don't have to worry about the police.

I lived in chicago all my life went to school here, ill tell you this all the times i was out hanging on the streets and they stopped me and told me to get the fuck out of there has probably contributed to me not getting locked up, shot, dealing drugs or in a gang. So take it as an experience that kept you alive to this day rather then hating.

Here's my reply to you haters! FUCK YOU TO from all the police in america

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

Oldschool and to reply to your neg rep

No anger management class is needed. I'm far from pissed. People like you that post shit like this just blows my mind. It you don't like the police fine its your right but act your age and keep it to yourself rather then posting.
