should have stuck to dirtbikes

today I got pulled over going 87 in a 30 on the romeoville frontage roads just north of 55N off of weber rd. I was riding with joe and I was screwed by the time I saw the cop clocking about a mile into the road. I'm glad they let go joe free though. I was arrested and my bike got impounded. I imagine its going to be a few hundred to get the bike out. Any idea how they transport the bike? I hope they don't blow the fork seals on it. What kind of penalties am I facing? I have a bad history already.

get fined big time, and or may face losing your license.

just get a lawyer and it'll prob cost close to a grand. do a search on here, its happened to a few people before. Just be glad you didn't wreck or get in an accident.

I can deal with a grand total, much more though and depending long the suspension is if I get one, I may just give up riding for a while and sell my bike. It would be a boring summer.

I must have just missed all you guys. I just rode through there on the 750, went home, then did it again on the 1000.

There are some definite LEO hot spots through the entire route. I hope you find a good attorney and everything works out for you.

well I was riding out in front, and a little more spiritedly than joe was, they must have clocked me only. Joe stopped with me and the police told him he was free or whatever. But I was pretty surprised to go to jail just for 87, I never imagined going to jail for anything less than a 100mph.

I am probably wrong, but I though anything like 30 something miles over the speed limit is wreckless driving, and an arrestable offense? I would get a lawyer and hope for the best.

I thought a conviction of double the limit led to an immediate revocation of your DL for a year. Where is Rob, we need legit legal advice here.

Well they let me go without even asking for my license. I stopped because I don't need any more drama with the popo. Perhaps that is why they let me go. I probably wasn't going more than 60 anyhow. They claimed that 40 over was immediate jail and impound.

Lesson leaned on my part and I hope on Ryan's.

At that point if they have cause ( or are pissed ) it can be a misdemeanor

They did mention a misdemeanor, that is why they carted him to jail.

If they wrote him for the Misdemeanor, that is way beyond a simple
speeding ticket.... find a lawyer, open wallet, hope for a cool judge.

Maybe this will help you

Each time you are convicted of a moving violation, points will be added to your driving record according to Illinois' point system. The number of points varies according to the offense, and Illinois is relatively unique in assigning points for going too slow.

You face suspension or revocation of your driver's license if you amass too many traffic violations in one year. The length of time you lose your license will depend on how many points you've accumulated.

If you have had your license suspended or revoked before, the courts can increase the length of time you lose your driving privileges if you collect three traffic convictions in one year.
Points

The Illinois Administrative Code, Title 92, part 1040.20(c) gives the following point values for these offenses:

* Reckless driving―55 points

* Squealing or screeching of tires―10 points

* Driving too fast for conditions―10 points

* Driving over the speed limit:

* 1 to 10mph over―5 points

* 11 to 14mph over―15 points

* 15 to 25mph over―20 points

* More than 25mph over―50 points

* Exceeding the maximum speed limit in a school zone―20 points

* Driving below the minimum speed limit―5 points

* Driving below the minimum speed limit on an Illinois tollway―20 points

* Not driving in the right-hand lane when proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic―20 points

* Exceeding the maximum speed limit on a bridge or elevated structure―10 points

This list only gives a few examples; a very comprehensive rundown of all possible offenses and points is given in the Illinois Offense Table.
Penalties

Three convictions for traffic violations within a 12-month period can result in the revocation or suspension of your driving privilege. How long this revocation or suspension lasts depends on the number of points you have accumulated against your license.
First-Time Suspension

If you have not had your license suspended or revoked for the past seven years, these penalties apply:

* 0 to 14 points―no action

* 15 to 44 points―2-month suspension

* 45 to 74 points―3-month suspension

* 75 to 89 points―6-month suspension

* 90 to 99 points―9-month suspension

* 100 to 109 points―12-month suspension

* 110 or more points―12-month revocation

Repeat Offenders

If your license has been suspended or revoked in the past seven years, the penalties this time around are harsher:

* 0 to 14 points―no action

* 15 to 44 points―4-month suspension

* 45 to 74 points―6-month suspension

* 75 to 109 points―12-month suspension

* 110 or more points―12-month revocation

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

so if I got wreckless driving, is it just 55 points, or is it wreckless driving plus everything else that falls under what I did. Basically it sounds like I will fall under 6 month suspension, hopefully i can atleast get supervision for work and schoo.

I was arrested for reckless driving on the bike a few years ago. It was knocked down to 30 over speeding conviction and a $500 fine. Didn't lose my liscense, but I had nothing else major on my record. I had a lawyer but i really think she was as useless as tits on a bull. I really feel I would have gotten the same thing if I went in myself and said I was sorry

EDIT: since when did we have a point system in Illinois????????
