passing the school bus

Ok, so I pull out form my building and the bus was stopped and had the lights on and all that bullshit. I passed the bus slowly, but got stopped by the fukin police.
What's the fine?

What pisses me off is that we had an armed robbery in the building, and also, someone broke into my car and stole my radar detector. When it comes to crimes, there's no police, but the ordinary people are getting tickets. My wife got a ticket recently too. They are looking everywhere to jamb it up your ass. I fukin hate cops right now so bad.

its on the ticket, or code when you go to pay it.

next time dont pass a school bus, you being a hurry you could have hit some little kid running from around the bus.

i know you dont wanna hear this shit right now, but a kids life is more important then loosing 2 minutes to something.

I was's hurring or anything, just didn't know that oncoming traffic has to stop. That is true if you have a median, so I confused it.

Dont pass a school bus, glad you got ticketed. Kids get on those things man, and they don't pay attention when they're running for it.

The extended stop sign on a school bus is two sided for a reason.

The only time you can pass from oncoimg traffic is on a divided highway. Even then, extend them the 2 minute courtesy.

Rules of the Road

Quote:
You must stop before meeting or overtaking a school bus loading or unloading passengers
on a two-lane roadway. A warning will be given at least 100 feet (200 feet in rural areas)
in advance of a stop. The bus driver will flash amber and red lights on the front and rear
of the bus. The stop signal arm will be extended after the school bus has come to a complete
stop. You must then come to a complete stop.
You must remain stopped until the stop signal arm is no longer extended and the flashing
lights are turned off or the driver
signals you to pass.
You do not always need to stop
when meeting a stopped school
bus on a roadway with four or
more lanes. You do not need to
stop if you are traveling in the
opposite direction of the bus, but
you should drive cautiously.
Your driver’s license or vehicle
registration will be suspended
for three months if you are convicted
of illegally passing a
stopped school bus. If you
receive two such convictions
within five years, your driving
privileges will be suspended for

I don't believe the police even need to be present. The bus driver can notify them with your license #, and a ticket will be issued.

This is true and why any moron that passes a school bus with the stop sign out should be ticketed and fined.

Did you know it's illegal to pass a school bus that's stopped with the STOP sign hanging off of it?

Just glad for you that it was a fine and not a license suspension. I had a friend who they came down on very hard for doing that, but she knew she was supposed to stop. Everyone screws up sometimes, just make sure you learn from it and be glad no one was hurt. And seriously, thank your stars they didn't suspend your license. That is a nightmare and a half, and from what I've heard, that's what they usually throw at you, even on a first offense.
