doubt you'll beat it..not a bad fine though, go to court and get supervision. Probably will be doing the 4 hour school too

got one a few years back, didn't try and fight it though..guess if you were pulling onto a different street and cars were behind you, you could use the 'accelerated too hard to get out of traffics way, not used to bike, etc.' excuse.

I just noticed on the ticket he didnt put reckless driving/riding, or negligent driving/riding on the ticket. He just put popping wheelie on public street. Are the other 2, two seperate tickets? Ive read about other people getting them and they also got those along with the wheelie offense.

I have no idea what the legal term of "popping a wheelie" means. But I have received a ticket for "operation of a motorcycle on one wheel" (doing a shitty assed wheelie) and a written warning for "operation of a motorcycle on one wheel" (rolling a very nice stoppie). So , I now have a very good understanding of "Operation of a motorcycle on one wheel" and the cost associated.

It has the same points as reckless driving/riding.

12 years ago I missed second gear on my can-o-tuna. I popped it in, and accidentially pulled the front end up. Naturally, I had a state trooper next to me. At the next light the trooper laughed (he knew it was an accident) and asked me if I was ok. I asked him for a warning ticket, because none of my friends would ever believe I pulled the front up, let alone on the "tuna"

Jason I left you a bag of popcorn at work, I hope it is still there on Monday.

COuld you describe the alleged wheelie ?

I mean was it a hump, a bump, a 10 o clock clutch up or one of those beautiful two
gear 100 MPH one legged wheelies that ended in a blast of smoke from the front tire.

Some of these would be harder to explain.

The offense is titled "Operating a motor vehicle on one wheel". did you gett eh envelope with the traffic school option? send in your check and mark the box, "plead guilty and apply for traffic school. this will get you supervision and you will be done. At one time it used to be a reckles driving offense but they dropped it form that definition.

So now it's just a normal traffic ticket. Do your time in traffic school and you will be all done, no reason to go to court etc.

Well since you asked.
A loooong time ago I got a ticket for "wheelies in traffic "on a bike like the one in my avatar. I didn't have any money so I just went to court.

The Judge said, What's a wheelie? Everyone laughed and someone told him.
He said, We won't do that anymore will we. I said No sir! and walked out of the court room completely bewildered at what had just happened.
I doubt that would happen again.

Good luck.

pony up the money and get a lawyer...a conviction of operation of a motor vehicle on one wheel is really nothing nice...it's pretty serious...I used to get tons of those tickets...I'm sure I paid for my lawyer vacations many times over..LOL
Long story short have your lawyer either get the ticket tossed (pretty hard to do if you did do a wheelie) (if the cop doesn't show they'll usually give a continuance and or set a trail date) or get some kind of supervision...he/she should be able to work it so you don't have to got to traffic school. It'll cost you some cash but it'll be done and over with. my 2 cents....tickets on your record cost way too much in the long run!

Or you could stick with sport bikes and not ride wheelies.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
