Ticket in TN, bullsh*t I say. advice?

Going to my dad's right near knoxville, and I'm on 75S. I'm going ~68-70 mph with traffic, downhill around a curve (speed limit posted is 55).

So, as i'm going around the corner (i've got a car to the right lane, car length ahead, 2 cars behind me in my lane and one to the left), I see a cop and start slowing down like everyone else, and he decides to pick me out of the pack and pull me over...

Now, I'm not saying I wasn't speeding, but i've got a few MAJOR problems with le'douche that pulled me over.

First, I've got a fuzzbuster, and it didn't go off at all (he said I was radar'ed, wouldn't show me it). Second, that car to the right in front of me?...it was in the way for him to radar me! Third, he tells me that I was going 78, EASILY 10 over what I was actually doing!

What the fuck is with that?? Usually when I've gotten tickets, cop is cool, i'm cool, and they'll give me a 9 over for my 14 kind of thing...Ive never heard of a cop ADDING speed to your ticket.

So, at 23 over, is it worth driving back down here just to fight it?..

One other thing to note, i'd say within at the most a second after seeing him coming around the curve, he was already starting to pull out to get me. Is it possible for him to have clocked me coming around a curve with a pack of 3 other cars, within a second, without setting off my radar detector??

Asshole.

Fighting it is an option. You could do it without a lawyer. However, check the county website and see if they have something they call a pjc down there. It is like supervision. You might also be able to find out who the judge is and e-mail him )to discuss it reasonably). I've done that before.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

good idea on emailing the judge, hadn't thought about it...

I personally wouldn't mind admitting fault for going all of 13ish over, rather than take something that's 20+ when it's undeserved..

In WI, for example, I wrote a letter and had it signed by an attorney (that I worked with) and they reduced it from 17 over to 7 over.

I e-mailed back and forth with a NC judge last year, sent him my abstract (driving record) and secured the pjc. No conviction.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.
