Bummer this morning

Headed out for a ride at about 6:45-7am since the sun was coming out. Was heading down 90 not doing anything insane... close to the 290 junction I'm in the exit lane because traffic is surprising thick this early on a Sunday and *bam* lights and sirens goes off.

I was like crap... I didn't even remember what I was doing... probably not much different from the traffic around me so I pull over. He comes up and say, "Speeding..." and just shrugs his shoulders. There is construction there now so I got slapped with a citation for doing 84 in a 45 zone. Date is late October.

I've got a clean record so far.

Funny thing is these troupers never ask you to take off your helmet.

I'm thinking I need to take an attorney no? Any thoughts?

Those construction zone tickets and court fees are expensive! Good luck. Given you were charged with nearly 40 over, you probably want an attorney.

? Who said that was my defense?

I just posted what my thoughts were when I got caught. It's pretty obvious I was speeding. He probably even waited for me to get to the construction zone before nabbing me.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Isn't 30+ mph over the limit in a 55 mph zone considered felony speeding?

Got nailed last month on Jericho Rd. west of Rt.47 for 82 in a 55. Pulled right over, can't risk losing my trading licenses for a felony fleeing/eluding. 3 Kane Cty. Sheriffs on a county 2 lane in the middle of farmland. I got online traffic school + $95 fine= $140 total. I think I was lucky.
