How should I deal with this ticket?

I got an Administrative Notice of Ordinance Violation last week for trespassing on Lake Shore Drive. Couple of my buddies came to visit me from out of the country and we decided to take couple of pics around 11:30pm (past park timings). I was driving near LSD and decided to pull in. One of the gates was open and few minutes later a cop pulled over by where I was parked.

He wrote this attached ticket. Made me sign it. I was reluctant and asked him to explain the charges. He told me it wasn't a moving violation and that he wasn't going to charge my friends (my bigger concern). I read briefly and put down my siggy.

So, as to my question: Can I just pay it off ($35) and forget about it or do I have to go to the court for a hearing? From the wording on the ticket, it looks like I have to go in for a hearing. If so, does anyone know what I can expect?

Thanks in advance.

The ordinance is listed on the back as one that you can just pay and forget it.. pay within 7 days and it's $35. Best to pay in person and get a receipt. Places to pay are also listed on the back.

Everyone Exaggerates
