Interesting development in the latest 'Runaway' Toyota:
http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/15/o...nswer-questio/

Something smelled fishy about story this when I first saw it on the news. Fully appling the brakes in most cars will bring it to a stop regardless of throttle position. A Toyota Prius is not a torque-monster.

$700k in debt and he's driving a Prius? Sheeet if I had that much debt I'd be rocking a Lambo or a Carrera GT.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Hmmm other side to that story:
http://i.autoblog.com/2010/03/18/chp...e-runaway-pri/

this is one reason I will not buy a car without a physical throttle cable and real hydralic brakes, and a real ignition cylinder. Hell I don't even like automatic transmissions. If the throttle was stuck on my cat there is a nice pedal on the left that makes it ral easy to stop. Stupid Prius has too much electronics on it.
