The idiotic answers don't surprise me, but rather the confidence and the rapid response these people have to the questions.

You better be nice to America or we will bring democracy to your country.

Accent or not, some of them couldn't even point out where America is on a map. And southerners are supposedly more patriotic then the rest of the country.

That's because most people can't afford maps, and, um, the south africa and stuff ...

Ok, think about this logically please: A reporter is doing a story on how stupid Americans are. Say he interviews 100 people, 10 give some really stupid answers, 70 give mostly correct answers and 20 give all correct answers. Guess which ones will end up on TV.

This "news" clip is about as scientific as the Pepsi Challenge.

Ask people on this board those questions and you'd get correct answers.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

There is some truth to what you're saying Chills but I believe that this represents a good portion of America unfortunately. You don't even have to look far to find proof of that. Just look at some of the shit that gets posted here in this forum!

Why do you believe that? Most Americans can't tell you how many sides a triangle has? Seriously, there are some dumbasses out there, but that story was made to exaggerate a point. You can do that with the citizens of any country. In fact someone posted a link to a similar story using Brits in the last couple of months.

Regarding your point about the stuff that gets posted here... see my above comment.

Yeah the triangle question was a whee bit overboard but not being able to point out where the United States is on a map or knowing where the Middle East is, an area where we've been for the past few years, is pretty pathetic. I've always said on here, that most people couldn't point out on a map the country of the group of people they despise let alone where they themselves are located in the US.

Its unfortunate, but people have a narrow view of the world. To them, there's us and then there's everyone else. All they know about the world around them is what they see on TV, in the newspaper, or some stupid internet forum where some idiot posts multiple "no shit" and "what the fuck is this" news articles he got from an RSS feed.
