Cat killed by car 'comes back to life' nine months after owner buries him

Now that's strange

Sometimes dead is better.
But he's not gods cat, he's my cat... let god get his own if he wants one... not mine... not mine.

I don't get it. Why didn't the the guy go back to the spot where he buried the cat to see if the "dead" cat was still there? That would make a lot of sense to me.
But then, I'm a dog owner, so naturally I'm smarter than this guy.

a good friend of mine was house sitting for his boss years ago. His boss explained that he had a dog, and described the dog in great detail, but that the dog would run away for days at a time and come home later. (this story takes place in North Carolina) one day while my buddy was house sitting he gets a ring at the door, it was the neighbor that pointed out what appeared to be the home owners dog, it was dead and had been hit by a car. With no tags, he compared the dog to a picture he found in the home, and promptly buried the dog. When his boss returned home, he explained what happened and pointed out in the back yard where he buried the dog.

His boss was upset but thanked my buddy for what happened. Two days later, my buddies boss came into the office and said, you will never believe what just happened. "My dog came home"

My buddy buried somebody else's dog.
