Military warning

ACTUAL MILITARY WARNINGS, can you believe it?

"Aim towards the Enemy." -Instruction printed on US Rocket Launcher

"When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend." -U.S. Army

"Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate. The bombs are guaranteed to always hit the ground." U.S.A.F.Ammo Troop

"If the enemy is in range, so are you." -Infantry Journal

"A slipping gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire when you least expect it. That would make you quite unpopular in what's left of your unit." -Army's magazine of preventive maintenance.

"It is generally inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed." -U.S. Air Force Manual

"Try to look unimportant; they may be low on ammo." -Infantry Journal

"Tracers work both ways." -U.S. Army Ordnance

"Five-second fuses only last three seconds." -Infantry Journal

"Bravery is being the only one who knows you're afraid." --Col. David Hackworth

"If your attack is going too well, you're probably walking into an ambush." -Infantry Journal

"No combat-ready unit has ever passed inspection." -Joe Gay

"Any ship can be a minesweeper ... once."-Anon

"Never tell the Platoon Sergeant you have nothing to do." -Unknown Army Recruit

"Don't draw fire; it irritates the people around you." -Your Buddies

(And lastly) "If you see a bomb technician running, try to keep up with him." --U.S.A. Ammo Troop

You dont need a reason to ride, just gas money and lots of time.

1 more quote from my COIC in Panama during the invasion.....

Gentlemen remember this. "When the shit hits the fan and the shooting starts don't be afraid of the reports (sound) of enemy weapons!!! That should just motivate you higher because if you hear them you are still alive! When you do not hear it thats the one that will hurt! Now let's go!" That is almost verbatim! I still chuckle when i think back to that!

Those are good! As far as labels go--------The dumbest i have seen is on coffee cups from places.."Caution contents may be HOT!" Wtf is that?? Isn't it suppose to be hot?

My doctor told me once (when i went in for my appendix removal) that i should take 5-6 extra strength tylenol to ease the discomfort / pain. I asked him if that was safe because of the warning to only take 2. He told me that was just Lawyer BS. He said you can usually double and sometimes triple the recommended dosage and still be safe on pain relievers from over the counter.

Kelly, remember what the front of a Claymore mine says?

"Front Towards Enemy"

That really cracked me up when I saw it in Basic. And you know what, dumbass privates still point it the wrong way.

Oh, and more army doctor BS. Out on a field exercise and his Apache pilot was run over by a Humvee. If the report is to be believed all four tires went over him. Well, dude goes to the hospital and the doc prescribes him Motrin and sends him home.

I'm so glad I'm out.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I bleed GREEN

i bet it was 800 mg Motrin.

Yeah the claymores cracked me up. "face toward enemy" and the instructor even said "The body has a curve on it so you can place it against your chest in the dark to know which way the blast field will go." Yeah right dumbass its a shaped charge for a maximum killing radius arc.

Oh you broke your arm? Here take these 800 mg motrin.
Oh you stubbed your big toe?--Here take these 800 mg motrin
Oh your car won't start?--Here takes these 800 mg Motrin

In the navy they would perscribe it for anything. all you had to do is go to medical. I had a medicine cabinet full of moltrin bottles.

800 mg Motrin! Flashbacks! I used to rodeo back when I was in the Marines (bulls, bareback, saddlebronc, a little clowning -- more balls than brains back then). No matter what the damage was, the Navy corpsman gave you Motrin. Concussion, stitches, separated rib, broken coccyx, stomped legs -- you got 800 mg Motrin, lots of it. I used to give it away to my girlfriend.

The only time I recieved anything more powerful was in Boot Camp when the dentist pulled four wisdom teeth. For that I got Tylenol 4 with codiene. The DI really had fun with me when I was looped on that.

In a previous post, somebody talked about taking double or triple doses of regular Tylenol. DON'T ! It WILL screw up your liver! I don't recall the annual death rates from Tylenol right now, but they are surprisingly high for an over-the-counter med. Occasionally someone takes an overdose of Tylenol in a suicide attempt, or perhaps a mock-suicide attempt. They will die, but it takes about two weeks to do it as the liver shuts down.
