Uh-oh... New guy!

Hey guys! I recently got my first bike (Suzuki Gladius SFV-650) and have been looking for some cruises and what not and was told to make my way over here! I look forward to meeting some new people and having a good time!

Before I go to far into it, I agree, but also disagree with you. It is a fun bike, but in the little time I have ridden it I have begun to change things fairly quickly... For one the stock suspension is SLOPPY, but I just got my new shock in and should have fork springs and intimidators in this week. That should help change that aspect drastically. That is probably my main complaint about the bike, however, it does feel a little under powered (I don't think I could ask much more from a 650cc vtwin though). The riding position is to upright for me, but I have already ordered some clip ons to help bring it down a bit. I hope once everything is on the bike it will be more fun to ride!

Nice bike! I'm in the neighborhood; look for a copper SV with a dorky Givi windshield.

+1. With experience comes proper modifications.

Welcome to the board.

Define crazy... haha! As far as speed is concerned, I know this is not the bike for that, but the suspension is not that great in stock form. The bike feels a little unstable over high speed bumps (its not a noob thing, vetern riders have the same opinion) and in the twisties it is just lacking a little bit.

Trust me when I say the modifications I am doing are much needed for the bike. I haven't begun to touch the power of the bike, because the suspension and brakes need work if I want to go faster.

Thanks for the welcome.

Bro, any mods you do will not add value when you trade up (if you want to). Just a fyi. Welcome to the site and have fun learning how to ride on 1 I mean 2 wheels.

After building a couple STi's, a S2000, R32, a couple SRT4s and now my Evo, I think it's safe to say the money I spend on mods will never be seen again. I just can't seem to leave things alone no matter how hard I try... It's a sickness I swear!!! Haha!
