Hello from downtown

Hello everyone! Just discovered this forum today while looking for some forums for Chicago riders. I am really excited to catch some group rides with you guys and hope to meet some of you soon (that is me being optimistic that riding season could possibly start in March *fingers crossed*). Anyways, I was able to ride my friends 78' dual sport last season and made my own first investment in a 2003 r6. And yes, I did read the posts about 600cc purchases and found it very informative. Either way, looking forward to meeting you guys in the coming months.

-Michael

EDIT: I have also taken the MSF course. I am extremely happy I did. Tried to link a pictures of the bike but I do not have enough posts yet. Oh well!

I was able to enjoy it for a few full days before I put it away for winter. Cold weather = all maintenance completed so I'm ready to go for spring. I'm actually REALLY interested in taking it to the track sometime apart from street riding.

I see you are from downtown. A bunch of us are downtown so during the summer months look for Loop lunches posted up randomly. There is usually anywhere from 3 to 10 people who meet up for lunch and sheck out the "views' down here while eating out lunches.

Sweet Are there tracks here in IL? Actually, you don't need to answer that since I haven't even googled it myself I will keep checking in and tag along on one of the trips you guys take to the track.. and I've heard also that I'll probably get addicted.

Also if you need any parts for ur R6 if you drop it I have a new set of stock rearsets and also a set of new case covers with zero miles on them. Being a new rider its common to have tip overs, trust me all of us have them.

That is what I've heard. Whether it's banked pavement or gravel.. I'm expecting it at some point. Thoughts on investing in some textile/kev pants for street riding? Currently have full gear with the exception of pants and I hear jeans hold up for about 4 feet if you go down before your skin is getting cheese grated.

more like 2 feet ( on a pressue point like a knee) unless you get lucky and slide on your ass and the double denim at the back pockets helps out
