6k is fair. 5.500 is a good price, 5k is an awesome price.

In October, I purchased a 2008 R6r Black for 5400 dollars. It had just under 3500 miles, came with 2 crappy helmets, had a few items done to it. Fender Eliminator, flush mounts, cheap HID bulbs, sliders., no aftermarket pipe. It was wrecked 2 weeks after by a buddy. I was able to get a 2009 with less miles for edit - I actually paid 5700 for the 2009, black and gold. Both bikes were in excellent condition.

I wouldn't pay more then 5500, for what you are asking. I bet you can even get a pipe on there for that $$$

Not necessarily. In good market conditions, that is always true. In flat or down economies, I have been finding that at BEST, they hold price. And more often than not, bikes go farther down every month, until they hit their base of 3-4k.
