Greetings Ladies and Gents!

I stumbled upon this board when flipping through my options on my mobile app. I am a seasoned rider... Started riding at 7 and did my share of the MX events till I was about 16 and I got a car... When I turned 18 I was back on bikes again but this time I was let loose on the streets.

Recently I dont have a DD when it comes to motorcycles... I find botched experiments or project bikes on the Dirty (CraigsList) fix them, update them, ride them for a bit then sell off for a profit and on to the next victim....

For instance, last summer I built a 97 CBR 900 (bought in boxes), 98 CBR 900 (seller had financial issues and had to unload) and a 2003 VTR 1000 (crashed). This time I started looking in the winter and I found a 1989 CBR 600 for a steal! The guy said it "Wasnt Running" and it "Had Carb Problems" Turns out the frickin fuel filter was clogged, Choke Cable was disconnected, two vacuum port screws were missing (where you hook up the manometer to sync the carbs) and the plug wires were put on wrong.... His loss my gain!

I attempted to insert pics but it said I cant hotlink until 15 posts...

BRAND NEW TIRES FRONT AND REAR. Look at these meats! he fit a 170 on the rear, i think factory is supposed to be a 150... it also came with a new battery, new plugs, new front and rear rotors & Pads, new mirrors and some other stuff.

Here is it now running after figuring out all the simple crap. and yes i know the carbs need to be synced soon. the AF screws were all out of wack and I took some advice that was incorrect. after reading the service manual I got the AF right but its still needing to be dialed in.

Video goes here but like above... Cant hotlink img in yet

Anyway I think Ill be around here a bunch.

Ride Safe!

Facebook and the selling of the site from the two original local owners drove away a lot of folks - Site use to be very very active with 20 threads moving at any time - Posts by the min and always at least 30 ppl logged in
