Well damn, three of us are tied for first place now.... and two of us face off next week!

JoJo & Clearwater had a pretty tight game. Who the hell expected Larry Fitz. to finally have a breakout game, huh?

he had a breakout game and I had several players choke. Baltimore's defense gets 1 single point against Seattle? Arizona stubs McCoy.

All around shaping up as another interesting season.

Well just a few of us left now!

Clearwater, you're going DOWN! Projected numbers for each of our teams look pretty tight... and I'm betting it could go either way!

Bek,

Good game yesterday. I was screwed by my kicker and defense. Both consistent for me all year, on the game that matters they score a combined total of 1 point. It looks like it will be you and Milenko for the championship. I wish you both the best of luck.

As for next year (as I would like to do this again if everybody is interested) I had an idea. I would like to reward the top finishers of the league with the option to choose there draft spot for next year. Because we do a 1-12 then 12-1, having the first overall pick can be a blessing or a curse, but I believe that if you know your draft spot a few days in advance you can better plan for the draft. I propose (if the majority likes it) that starting with the first place team, each team will get the option to choose what slot they draft in. It is more a perceived benefit than an actual benefit, but i know that some people would rather have the first over all pick to grab a top tier RB and others would rather go closer to the bottom to get more value picks.

If this works out, I will give everybody my email address and ask that starting with the first person they email me within 48 hours and pick a slot from the pool of unpicked spots. Than any new players or players that did not email me in time will be placed in a hat and I will pull them at random for the remaining spots.

Tell me what everybody thinks.

I would vote to stay with the current draft system. If we did go with something like that we should allow the worst teams the first choice. Usually that's how it's done so teams can try and do better the next year.

Here are my thoughts for next year since they're fresh.

I like the setup of the league a lot. I don't think much should be changed. Here are a couple suggestions.

1. Have at least a week between the payment deadline and the draft. That way if we have the same situation next year that we did with that one guy we won't have to ask someone to step out. If a claimed spot is not paid for by that deadline that spot is up for grabs even if they said they were going to pay.

2. We need some way to handle when someone starts a player on bye or is clearly out for other reasons. I suggest that if that happens, the commish inserts the lowest scoring player on the bench for that player for that week. The commish also takes ownership of that team and sets a lineup each week for the remaining weeks. If that team faces the commish's team, another team will set the lineup that week.

Not setting a lineup is BS. It takes five minute per week. It really screws up a league when people are starting guys that are not playing.

My name is JB, people call me JB

JB, I agree with you on both of your suggestions, however I think we will need to work out a good system for #2 and I will be happy to assist. It will require the rest of the league to give me a heads up, but I would be happy to interveine if everybody is okay with me doing so at the start of the league.

JB, for the draft, would it be beneficial if I pulled names out of a hat 48 hours in advance? It is still random, but that way people will have some notice to help create a draft strategy, or is it best to just let things fall as they will. I am fine with either. Last year I drafted in the middle, this year at the bottom, and both years I had a similar result (playing in the consolation game for 3rd place)

I like the draft idea Chris. It keeps it random but gives you a chance to plan ahead.

As a reminder the top 6 teams make the play offs. We will be playing for $220 in prize money as Crotchety has graciously offered to contribute his money into the pot even though he isn't playing.

I will be splitting the pot into 4 payouts just like we did last year.

First place at the end of the Fantasy regular season
Overall winner (champion in the play offs)
2nd place winner
3rd place

I propose the pay outs as follows.

$80 to the winner of the regular season
$80 to the champion
$40 to second place
$20 to 3rd place (gets his money back)
Boo yah, looks like I've locked in the Championship game!!

The 3rd place game's is still definitely anyone's.

Good season everyone!

Congrats to everybody this season. Bek won it all with year with an almost wire to wire finish. Winning first place at the regular season and then going through the playoffs as well.

As such he is given $80 for regular season and $80 for the playoffs for a total of $160.

Second place goes to Milenko, barely sneaks into the playoffs at all and manages to make it all the way to the final game. He wins $40

Finally, the Warriors get the third place $20 prize.

I will issue the payouts, but can Milenko and Bek please double confirm your names. I am pretty sure it's Andy and Josh, but the league safe system doesn't correlate team names to real names and I don't want to send money to the wrong person on accident.

Thank you
