Bears acquire Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...,6269822.story

Almost three years ago, the Chicago Bears traded for Jay Cutler after years of unsuccessfully trying to develop their own quarterback. Now, they’ve traded for the wide receiver he worked so well with in Denver.

The Bears have packaged two third-round draft picks to the Miami Dolphins to acquire Brandon Marshall, hooking Cutler up with the big target he’s sought since he arrived here. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports first reported the news. Marshall, 27, comes from the Miami Dolphins where he caught 81 passes for 1,214 yards and six touchdowns last season.

The 6-4 Marshall instantly gives the Bears’ offense, now under first-year coordinator Mike Tice, a big-time playmaker. The Bears had an extra third-round pick in this year’s draft from the Panthers for the Greg Olsen trade. It’s not known what specific picks were sent to the Dolphins.

Sources said the Bears were working hard to sign Vincent Jackson in free agency but his price tag could have gone beyond what they wanted to spend.

What are they saying? I see this as a big positive... I was scared that we were going to again Draft gamble and not have a team come opening kickoff.

basically that unless one of his legs fell off recently it was a good move. And That Miami gave him away.

Rumor on Twitter is that Miami dumped Marshall to help entice Manning?

I would go to whichever team has a better O-Line if I were him. Too old to start getting knocked around now.

+1, seems like a good move. Why am I waiting for the other shoe to drop...?

he's a douchebag headcase (dr. diagnosis, not personal opinion)
and he drops way too many passes.

He's the Jay Cutler of wide receivers.

The Titans have promised to pay him more than anybody else. They had one of the best O-lines in football last year and explosive RB, a few good WR's (Kenny Brit, etc)

The titans could be a contender with Manning and I think that is what he wants. To me it is a natural fit given that it is also only 3 hours south of Indianapolis.

why would proximity to Indy matter?
I would think that fact that he has strong ties in TN and the south in general would be a bigger factor.

Someone hits my girl in the face with anything and I will be punching them the fuck out regardless of if they have a penis or not. And if I'm an NFL player I might be able to do said punching with the desired result.

He also has had I think 5 consecutive years of 1000 yard seasons. Not to many recivers in the NFL can say that.

5 consecutive 1000 yards seasons for Marshall.

Are you talking about the team that chocked for the nfc title? The same team that for the next year went defeated in all games against the pack? The same same team that has gone through like 18 different quarter backs in the last 12 years?
