Cubs take game one... let's see if we can have a civil conversation about the games and not have, "Cubs suck!" "No, your White Sox blow!!"... We can save that for a different thread.

I only got to listen to the game, so I couldn't see any of the highlights... yet. But I would like to know some opinions of that grand slam that was ruled a foul ball. Did anyone see it?? I think that's one of the few and only times I've heard a call get reversed. Managers are constantly going out onto the field to argue, but they never get a call reversed.

Also, to the Cubs fans... I heard that Carlos pulled himself out of the game. What did he look like on the mound? They said on the radio that he was stretching his fingers back... like you would if you had a pulled muscle in your forearm?? Anything on that?

How much of an impact do you think it had on the Sox not being able to have Thomas as the DH in this game and will be in this series?? Any thoughts?

Now... Discuss.

The Cubs and the White Sox suck each other's jocks in the 69 position.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

But... right after they reversed the call, Gload hit a 2 run scoring double. So, that should have brought them right back up. It's for sure not a 4 run bomb, but 2 runs in the first is good in anyone's book!

true.. but when your team is all cheering cause you just hit a 4 run shot and your half way around the bases and they tell you to come back.. that hurts.. i'm sure after they got 2 in.. it still is a mental thing in your head now.. you can't just think.. well at least we got two.. no all you think is damn.. they took away our 4... kindof like when Mr. Bartman pulled the ball into foul.. they could have easily recovered.. but it puts a mental tick in your head.. and its hard to get out.. even if you have a better team phyically, you can always destroy your oppoints mental game.. then phyical doens't matter anymore.

it took till the 9th inning i think for the Sox to even get another hit.... shows right there they were having problems.. no biggie we will get ya next game.

The ball was obviously foul...the proper call was made.

The Cubs played very well, the Sox did not.

Hopefully, this weekend won't repeat the last.

Get ready JimGoFast, you'll be in our house Sunday night.

*Rant on*
I don't like the whole AL DH stuff. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I like seeing the pitcher step up to the plate. Watching Wood get a hit is almost as entertaining as Sammy hitting one out of the park.

I don't like Zambrano either, but that's beside the point

The Sox always seem to make us look stupid at Comiskey, but I don't see us losing more than 1 at Wrigley. If for no other reason, the Cubs have better players and should be able to perform.
