Hey Cub Fans!!!!

couple of questions for ya

1) what do you think of the proposed summit meeting in the Dominican between the cubs and Sosa??

2) did you get out and rock the vote today??? I believe the tribune (its one of the news papers), has online vote today to see if Sammy "strike out" Sosa should be stripped of His Captian status!!

good luck in 05!!

This is an easy one for me. I have been saying for the past three seasons, that Sosa should have been traded and now it's to late, because no smart team wants to pick-up his contract.

For whatever reason, Sosa has always rubbed me the wrong way.

Now, that we are the subject of talking about the Cubs, let me mention this:

I don't like Dusty Baker. I think that he is a one-season hit wonder and is an overrated manager. We are talking about a guy who, for whatever reason can't bring the pitching to "the next level", where it should be and can't nail down a decent batting order. Don't even get me started on the September implosion.

Losing Alou to the Giants makes me want to spit!

Finally, what is up with this off-season? SI.com rated the MLB teams with the best off-season trades and maneuvers and the Cubs were near the bottom. Even, the White Sox have done an impressive job of plugging up some holes in the off-season.

I wish I could be more optimistic, but the front office has not done anything to bolster my optimism

My two cents,

all i know is the drama is actually worse now then it was during the season, if someone doesnt put a stop to it soon, they are doomed, and will finish near the bottom. Some one needs to tell dusty and the rest of the team when someone ask then a question about sosa or the drama there answer is to be "NO COMMENT" next question please

I agree the drama is worse right now, but I blame sports radio and the Sun-Times, for that. We are currently in a sport event black hole (no baseball, NHL, football, or even the abhorrently long NASCAR season) at the moment, so they need something to talk about.

actually from what ive listen to, the media has been pretty soft in there quest for drama, most of the drama seems to be coming directly out of Dusty and Jim Henrys lips. A sosa summit meeting? wtf is that???

Yeah, a "Sosa Summit" cracks me up. I'd rather see a "search for new power hitters summit".

he was a cancer and the ballclub is better off with him gone. now we just need a right fielder. I really hope we can score Mags. I think they shoulda kept Alou too, but what's done is done.

if mags is really healthy than hed be worth it, but with borris as his agent i think the cubs are going to have a hard time signing him. but he would be a good additon.

i agree, borris is going to push for more money than we want to spend and health is of course an issue. though him not having to move is a bonus he has to consider.
