This is an easy one for me. I have been saying for the past three seasons, that Sosa should have been traded and now it's to late, because no smart team wants to pick-up his contract.
For whatever reason, Sosa has always rubbed me the wrong way.
Now, that we are the subject of talking about the Cubs, let me mention this:
I don't like Dusty Baker. I think that he is a one-season hit wonder and is an overrated manager. We are talking about a guy who, for whatever reason can't bring the pitching to "the next level", where it should be and can't nail down a decent batting order. Don't even get me started on the September implosion.
Losing Alou to the Giants makes me want to spit!
Finally, what is up with this off-season? SI.com rated the MLB teams with the best off-season trades and maneuvers and the Cubs were near the bottom. Even, the White Sox have done an impressive job of plugging up some holes in the off-season.
I wish I could be more optimistic, but the front office has not done anything to bolster my optimism
My two cents,
