Bears vs. Bills Preview
The Beloved have a home game tonight at 7PM against the Buffalo Bills. The Bears are widely expected to play their starters into the third quarter in what is considered to be the best chance to make final decisions regarding the starting lineup. It should also give us the best chance to evaluate the state of our team before the regular season. Here's some notes and key things to watch tonight.
1. This game figures to be a defensive battle with both teams featuring stout run defenses and running based offenses. Buffalo is also going to limit the amount of touches stud running back Willis Macgahee receives as they are concerned about his durability.
2. There is going to be a nice matchup of young unproven quarterbacks. Chad Hutchinson and JP Losman have both looked shakey in their appearances so far this year. This game could be decided by which of them steps up and delivers a touchdown play. Watch for both teams to bring a lot of pressure and try to rattle the young quarterbacks.
3. The Bears are still unsure who the starting second wide receiver will be. Look for either Justin Gage, Bernard Berrian or rookie Mark Bradley to stand out and make a case for the job. If none of them perform well, it's likely Gage will get the job by default.
4. Bears punter Brad Maynard might kick for the first time this preseason. He is recovering from a leg injury.
Halftime score: Buffalo 7 Bears 6
Final score: Bears 23 Buffalo 20
