Bears vs. Browns Recap

There's not much to recap of this game. The starters only played two series on offense and one series on defense. Urlacher and Benson were both sitting the whole game. The Browns won 16-6 by running the ball all over the Bears second and third string defenses. The Bears lack of depth at linebacker was readily apparent.

Orton had one big play and one bad play. He hit Muhammad with a well thrown 42 yard pass down the middle of the field. On the same drive he made a poor throw to Justin Gage that resulted in an interception. The good news is that Orton was making the right decisions on where to throw the ball. The bad news is that he underthrew two passes on the drive.

Mark Bradley scored the Bears only touchdown with a great diving catch of a Kurt Kittner pass. He also had a 40 yard return on a kickoff. Look for Bradley to get the job as the second receiver sometime around mid-season. He is just too explosive to not be on the field more. If he was a better blocker the job would already be his.

Gabe Lidstrom continues to punt well filling in for Brad Maynard. He averaged over 45 yards a punt with one boomer going for 62 yards! It's too bad punters have no trade value since the Bears have two good ones but they will not carry two punters on the roster.

The best news though is that no starters were injured in the game. Linebacker Lavar Woods left the game with a neck stinger but it is not considered serious.

The first play was great by Orton and Moose.

That interception wasn't bad because it was in the endzone resulting in a touchback, same as a punt or kickoff.

When he is in all game he will make even better descisions not trying to press to score with less than a quarter to do anything.
He's the best thing for the Bears since Ditka.

A am a Bear fan as long as Ortons the starter.

Blake didn't look that good.
Kittner looked better to me than Blake.
