friendly bet, need advice, football related

okay,

here is the deal...

every year me and my father have a friendly bet, on sunday morning of opening day of the regular season we each pick one NFC and one AFC team. If either of our teams makes the superbowl, the loser buys the winner dinner at the winner's resturaunt of choice.

I won last year, for the first time in like 5 years of doing this, I want to win again. and it's not for a free meal, it's for bragging rights.

The problem is I don't like New England this year, to much coaching staff changes this year, and the colts scare me come december if they don't get home field advantage. However, they look like the two best teams in the AFC.

The Eagles look like the best NFC team, but who else is going to be a contender. the vikings, without Randy? Atlanta looks good, but probably not superbowl good.

Carolina and St. Louis could be shockers in the NFC, but I think Philly is good enough to go to the bowl. Atlanta will likely not make it due to Vick turnovers. Minnesota always collapses at the end of the year and their Defense is still bad.

The AFC is a much tougher call. The Patriots still have to be considered the favorites. Teddy Bruschi is a big loss but they have proven they can win with backups. Don't worry so much about Weiss and Romeo leaving, Bellicheck is the man in NE and always has been. The only teams I see that might give the Pats a run are the Chiefs and the Colts. The Steelers seem to have taken a step back, especially on offense. The Jets are good but not great in any area and seem to be unable to close games out. The Chargers and Jaguars are possibilities to step up but I don't think either will be better than the Pats, Chiefs or Colts.

my Dad took the patriots and the panthers. I took the eagles and the colts. I am not really happy with my picks as the eagles look terrible right now on monday night football and the colts are not a cold weather december football team, but time will tell who is ultimately right

As odd as it sounds, I think a lot of people have underestimated the negative effect Terrel Owens is having in Philly. They looked really bad last night. They were not playing in synch on either side of the ball.
