Bears vs. Bucs recap

The Beloved Bears won their 7th straight game today, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-10. It was a defensive game with neither offense doing much. The only Bears TD came after Alex Brown sacked Chris Simms forcing a fumble which Tommie Harris recovered on the 1-yard line. But the end result is a tough win on the road against a very good team.

On Offense:
Pretty bad day for the offense all the way around. Tampa shut down our running game, even though TJ and AP combined for 100 yards on the day. The Bears were not winning the battle at the line of scrimmage and we could not move the ball on the ground consistently. Other than the gimme TD from the defense, the O put up a measly 6 points. Credit Tampa with a good defense, but the Bears should have had a better showing. Orton took a step backwards and looked a bit lost all day. I also think Ron Turner was trying to avoid the turnover by very conservative play calling all game long. It almost cost us the game in the 4th quarter when our defense started to tire out.

On Defense:
Another very solid game by the D-Line as they had consistent pressure on Simms for the first 50 minutes of the game. Alex Brown had another great game, getting two sacks, knocking down three balls and even earning a pass defended when he dropped into coverage. The Bucs only started to move the ball at the end of the 4th quarter when it was obvious the Bears defense was getting tired. The game almost went to OT when the Bucs drove into scoring range, but their kicker pushed a 29 yard FG attempt wide. The combination of Peanut Tillman and Chris Harris looked weak again as Joey Galloway burned them for over 100 yards on the day. Coach Rivera is going to have to find a way to plug that hole as teams have noticed it and are starting to exploit it.

Overall:
It wasn't a super performance, but it was a win. The Bears just squeaked by today. With Minnesota on a 5 game winning streak and only 2 games behind us, we are going to have to play better ball against Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Green Bay if we are going to get a good playoff position. Hopefully this was just a hangover game after the big win against Carolina last week. We host the Packers next week and Brett Farve has a way of beating the Bears. I think it's going to be a very tough game.

Have the Bears released Grossman yet? They better get him on the market. Im liking Orton more each week. Not that hes setting the world on fire but hes getting by by being mistake proof. Hes thrown some real zingers at times. Seems to have an above average arm.

I wish he would shave that caveman shit off his face though..Dan Fouts wannabe. He grows a shitty beard

The packers scare me too. I think Brett Favre site awake at night thinking about how to beat the Bears. Im glad its here not in Cheeseville
