Talking Fantasy Football...It's Almost Time

Gauging interest in maybe setting up a fantasy league for CLSB...12 teams max, any more than that and there's just not enough good players to go around. I've already got a few people potentially intersted...anyone??

If we get enough, we'll figure out the details of the league at a later time...flex postitions, buy in, draft date, etc. ...i plan on a fair amount of shit talking on the board

5/12 FILLED

Hey cerk, post or pm how this works, i've heard of it, but never really looked into it. How do you know how your team does if it has completely different players than the nfl teams playing? Sounds kinda wierd if you ask me

300th post!

Typically, you're given a starting lineup to fill as follows:

QB
2 RB
2 WR
TE
DEF
KICKER
FLEX

The flex position can be any of the above positions...kind of an extra slot to fill with the best available player on your roster outside of those already starting.

That's typically the way i set the teams...your players earn points based on their individual statistical achievments on a weekly basis....so for instance, a RB earns points for rushing yards, recieving yards, rushing/recieving touchdowns, carries, receptions...etc. The point system varies from league to league. Footballs's pretty easy due to the smaller amount of players and games compared to say a baseball league. Each team plays head to head against another league member each week and is awarded a win or loss based on total points. Records at the end of the fantasy season (usually week 14) determine a playoff bracket and the last two or three weeks of the season determine the champion, depending on how the playoffs are bracketed.

Most if not all fantasy sites list all the players and ranks them. If you really get into it, there are magazines and websites for fantasy sports, you can read up on about the players and stuff.

I'd probly have to do that...i know absolutely nothing about football, news-wise. I understand how to play it *sorta*, but have never been into it.

Fantasy Bowl does a good one.

it is like 70 to set up a league and the 10 for each to join.

Typically the site you are using will be the most up to date. Most magazines are dated at this point and do not have reliable information. You should do your own research, go to ESPN, Sportsline and or Fanball.

Watch the mouth

My work league was potentially VERY involved (auction style drafting with a salary cap, rediculous stuff) but looks like it may have eased up...if i run this, it would be through yahoo...if someone else wants to take the reigns that's fine with me.

Do we want a buy in??

Tom

I will run it if your interested I do like fantasy bowl it is half the price pm me with your email if you want to play and I will set up a league and send you an invite. I will register the legue and pay once we have at least 5 in I think it is only 10 bucks for a team plus the split of the 69 registration pay me when you see me.

It is an easier site for the non experienced.

we would play trophy class.
