Shaun Alexander Out Indefinitely

Seattle game just got a whole lot easier for Da Bears.

Broken foot...probably out for a month.

***Paging flinchy***

hey flinchy, i just heard about this at lunch, is this true? how does seattle look without him running? i know you mentioned expect alot of play action, but with him out, what does that do for there offense? I can only assume this makes Lovey and Ron's job much easier.

Yep, Alexander is out "indefinately" with a broken bone in his foot. He hasn't looked right since injuring the foot against Detroit. I was actually semi-hopefull that he would try to play through it against us. Mo Morris is a fast, shifty kind of back who can make people miss. After the poor tackling display we put on against Minnesota, I'd rather have a hobbled Alexander.

I think Seattle is going to try to run a lot of traps, screens, draws and zone-blocking runs against us rather than a power attack. Pittsburgh killed us last year with the zone-blocking run attack, but I don't think Seattle has the OL to pull it off against our DL. If the Bears shut down the running game early, Seattle will go one-dimensional against us. But their passing attack is pretty darn good!

IMO, the Bears will win this game if they run the ball well and win the turnover battle. They will not win if they get into a shootout throwing the ball against Seattle. 140 rushing yards, 17 points and win the time of posession battle would be my goals if I was Lovie Smith. Let the defense do the hard work this week.

Great insight Flinchy. They definitely need to run the ball more.

I have Hasselbeck on my fantasy team but I'm not playing him because he is going against the Bears Def. and I would hate to catch myself rooting against da beloved Bears.

Who is your option besided Hasselbeck? I would say there is a "fair" chance that he puts up 250+ and a TD or two. If we let Rex throw 40 times again, it could get ugly.......

I have Rex on both my fantasy squads (took him last round both times). I only started him against Detroit but boy did that work out!
