How do I get a job like that?

that makes no sense. they had one of the highest payrolls in the league. i mean if they really wanted to make more money they would cut payroll.

Seattle Mariners $87,959,833 $87,754,334 $205,499

At the head of the class of those that have opened up their pocketbooks from 2005 to now are the Chicago White Sox with $27,572,667, with Jim Thome's $14,166,667 salary for 2006 taking up the brunt of the increase.

But, in terms of the largest percentage of increase in payroll, it's the Toronto Blue Jays, with a $26,195,500 increase, leading the way.

The Blue Jays are posting a mind-boggling increase of 57.3% over the year prior.

With the White Sox, the investment is based on the winning of the World Series. They have invested and banked on the increased ticket sales, and television viewing.

That is part of the problem (payroll). But judging by the empty seats towards the end of the season, fans are tired of the performance. I think they are trying to stop a slide in attendance at Wrigley. Sure, THIS year attendance started dropping in late August, but if they start sucking next year, it may start sliding in June. People are letting their opinions known in the one way that hurts the Trib the most..not showing up for games and spending $5/per, $4 hot dogs, $3 programs, etc.

A buddy of mine has several season tickets. He could barely off load games at face value on WEEKENDS, in good weather, FOR FACE VALUE. And that was in early August.

Yeah that happened to me too. i'm never buying tickets in advance ever again. when i can just show up at the game and get awesome seats for half price or even less. games were empty at the end of the year. two weekends ago the lot next to my apt was empty and its usually full and overflowing into another lot. i hope that's the case. i hope the trib gets the hint and puts something together. but everyone knows that's not going to happen.

OK, I'm back to the goat theory!

I think Kerry Wood's mom made love to the cursed goat 28 years ago, and this is where the problem lies.

Go cubs. Girardi will be in......he has to, it is an unwritten rule.

I hear he wants to stay in Chicago so we may be able to keep him as a mid reliever without payin a lot.
