So how is everyone feeling about our disgruntled pro-bowl linebacker?

He can kiss my ass...he's getting EXACTLY what he was told last year when he was offered the multi-year deal he's crying about. Fuck him. The Bears will not get equal value in return, it makes no sense to trade him. Let his ass sit.

I'm a firm believer of ditching players that aren't happy with their team. They don't have the motivation to play well, and that attitude spreads like cancer to the rest of the team. Time to get him out of here.

But that's exactly what he wants, because he knows a desperate team will pay him what he's asking...setting a precedent like that opens the door for players to leave on a whim, simply be being bad teammates with bad attitudes. I don't like

I know what you are saying, and would have agreed with you in past, until I saw examples like TO and Randy Moss. The second these guys were unhappy, they stopped playing, and it seriously effected their teames. It was like someone gave the team Miningitis, and the only way to save them was to cut off their once good arm Plus, in this day and age with free agency and good scouting, any team can bounce back in less then a season, so send him packing. We don't need guys like Briggs infecting our good team spirit.

He's good but definately overrated. He had some good games this year but he really isn't a standout when he makes plays more than likey it is b/c urlacher is being blocked not him.

He was a prick right after the superbowl. He was on the LOOP in the afternoon, they asked if he would come back to Chicago and try for another superbowl. Briggs said "some things are more important than superbowls." I'm sure he meant cash. Greedy fuck.

I really like Briggs, and he was definitely one of my favorite picks out of TX (besides Vasher). He's REALLY pissed me off lately though. If he feels he deserves more money, then he has the right to ask for it, but he is being a whiney little bitch, and going about it the wrong way. If we keep him he won't play or if he does play he won't care, so there is no reason to keep him around anymore. Hopefully we'll get some good picks or a good trade.

I say let him go through what Archuleta just went through with Washington. That will change his opinion really fast, I can't see what makes him feel he's so valuable. After Colvin and Holdman what makes him think he's irreplaceable. He'll be traded before the draft then we'll trade down for a couple lower picks that won't cost so much.

If the Bears don't want to pay Briggs what he's asking, then they certainly don't want to pay what is guaranteed to a top 10 first-rounder.

I say bench him for the season at his current salary. Or work a trade so you get something for him.

Joey Porter's enormous deal really didn't help the Bears cause here. Briggs > Porter

You can put anyone on that defense and there gonna shine Briggs is just absorbing that effect. He will not be a star anywhere else just an average linebacker. The only stars is Urlacher and the D lineeveryone else is a average player that has been in the right place at the right time to make plays. They play as a team thats what makes them so good SO F OFF BRIGGS!!!! cry some where else when playing on some half ass D

If my calculations are correct, this will create ice... OH NO, KILLER MUSTARD GAS!

Definitely overrated. He makes the tackles he does only because teams are running/passing away from Urlacher. He's johnny on the spot is all. Plug in another LB next to Urlacher and we'll soon forget about Briggs. Don't forget, when Urlacher was out with injuries, Briggs couldn't fill the middle LB position. Let Briggs sit out the season, he won't get paid for games he doesn't play in either.

Da Bears!

I agree Briggs needs to go before he becomes an even bigger distraction. Take whatever is on the table for him. Yes it sets a bad example but any player who wants out so bad they do this kind of talking is a cancer anyways so let them all go. It seems the Bears and Angelo are under a lot of pressure from the other teams in the league to not trade Briggs. I think the Bears are ready to make another Super Bowl run and not trading Briggs would be a crappy thing to do to the fans.
