Rose Bowl: ILLINOIS vs. USC

Quote:
Southern California and Illinois will play in the Rose Bowl, giving organizers the traditional Big Ten/Pac-10 matchup they desire even though they lost Ohio State to the national championship game.

USC got healthy and finished strong, winning four straight to end the season and take the Pac-10 title for the sixth straight season.

The Trojans (No. 7 BCS, No. 6 AP) earned their third straight Rose Bowl bid Sunday and fourth in the last five seasons.

No. 13 Illinois (9-3) orchestrated one of the best turnarounds of the season, getting back to the postseason for the first time since 2001 season after going 2-10 last year.

Man, it's not gonna be easy. Booty and USC have been tearing teams apart.

oh yeah, they finished really strong and our defense is suspect. It's gonna take a huge effort and should be a great game to watch, I'm just hoping they keep it close

Well that's news to me!
I didn't think Illinois had a good enough record to make it to the Rose Bowl.

GO ILLINI!!!
9-3, ranked 13th. With Ohio State going to the title game that left them as the highest ranked Big Ten team which puts them in the Rose Bowl

That's on a different level ...this is a "football" connection.

I was laughing by the 3rd goal after only 5 minutes of game time. You missed my thread on it:
