wrigley to be sold to state of IL?

http://www.mediainfo.com/eandp/news/..._id=1003685006

is this a good or bad thing?

as a cubs fan, I cheer because he is saying that this will keep the cubs in chicago (although, nobody has mentioned moving them)

however, seeing how blago runs this state, I cry.

thoughts?

comments?

I'd take Mark Cuban over the state of Illinois. I want a real person who cares. Not some big burocracy or corporation

I couldn't imagine the Cubs going anywhere else. But the Browns moved (at least for a little while) and no one ever thought they would go

I don't think it is a good thing. I am not to fond of the Cubs but I surely do not want them to go are have the State take over. I think it is a - for the Cubs

Owned by gvt = lack of funding. I would much rather have it be owned by a business / businessman.

The sale to a new owner has to be agreed upon by the MLB Owners Assoc and there is no way they would ever let that happen - Just like as long as Jerry owns the Sox, he will never let Cuban own the Cubs

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

The team is worth more if the state owns it because the up keep is on the state and team only pays rent. Like the Sox they only pay rent on full price attendance thus the 1/2 price nights to keep them out of the rent. The state would also have an easier time getting a full slate of night games.

Dam its a shame the cubs cant find a buyer then again 100..... and counting

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

They have four groups interested. It is all the accounting they have to figure out. Sam Zell bought the Tribune and said he wants to sell off the cubs they just have to figure out how to separate it to get fair market value. The Cubs are worth a lot more if WGN tv. went with them but it won't.

BTW Sam Zell is also partner in the White Sox and I do not think you can own parts of two teams. He already said he has no idea about baseball accounting and want nothing to do with it.
