Cedric Benson released

Just heard that Cedric Benson was released by the Bears. Yet another great pick by the Bears on the offensive side of the ball.

i couldn't agree more. and we couldn't get the runnin game going last year cuz our line sucked so bad. although i think orton is a decent qb he doesn't have nearly the arm that grossman does and with our receivers we have to have that deep threat.

What WR's? Starting over at RB with AP & a Rookie. Hester concerns me at WR & we have Booker back?!?! I have serious concerns about the Bears offensive potential.

ur just way to negative man. we got rid of drops berrian and mooseknuckle muhamed, hester is gonna be decent this year. rasheid davis has always been a great slot receiver. hester will do a lot more at WR this year so i thin we have to be able to stretch the field. not to mention olsen is a big target out in the middle of the field and creates some good mismatches for the defense. i think forte is gonna come in and shine. ap is a good change of pace and blocking back and wolfe can do a lot if he gets more opportunities. i think this year is gonna be a lot better than last. we have mike brown back healthy at safety as well as vasher healthy at CB. our young players on D have got another season of experience so thats gonna help too. not to mention the list of probowl linebackers and tackles. lets just say i think we're gonna have a good year despite all the probs last year and so far this off season. we had a good draft and some key free agent acquisitions.

Dude, R Davis blows. Hester, he may get it this year, at least he can stretch the field. They are risking injury with Hester at WR, he is the biggest playmaker on the field. Just the field position teams give up to kick away form him is huge. Berrian was a quality receiver IMO. I am happy to see Moose gone. Olsen can make a difference but you need a running game to pass the ball, we are not the Patriots... heck... I don't even know who the fourth receiver is...

u must like guys that drop perfect passes then. lol he was our most productive receiver but he led the nfc in drops for most of the season. from what i've seen from davis is that he can go out and make key plays on 3rd down. if he gets in more snaps then he'll just make more plays. 2 of the rookie WR are supposed to be pretty good and have been making a splash so far at OTA's and workouts man.

The Vikings certainly thought so about Berrian.. We'll see. I hope you're right! I still think Davis blows.... I thought the Bears would sign at least one experienced free agent WR in addition to Booker.

there is still a chance that may happen. chad johnson and TJ both want out of their contracts. there are few other free agents floating around i think too so hopefully we can get something done before the season starts. only 2 months till preseason starts.

Thank God Benson is gone. I still don't see AP as a #1 back. The games he played when Benson was injured weren't really great. I like AP, but I don't think he can carry the running game. I like Wolfe. He is small, but quick. Something good needs to happen at O-Line for the Bears to have a good season. I think that Grossman has gotten better, he doesn't make as many stupid, risky throws as he used to. That was really his downfall, when he was in a tough spot he forced throws and threw picks. Ever since he was benched, he doesn't seem to be doing that any more. Throw a decent O-Line and someone that can run the ball in there and we might have a chance. I hope Mike Brown stays healthy this season, its a tall order though. Its really sad that such a great player get injured so often.

Bears fans could not be any happier. HE was trouble from the start. Remember before he even play for the Bears he sit out and asking for more $money$, I mean how dare him, just that he rub Bears fans the wrong way. Give Wolf and that new kid a change.

I'll agree that our offensive line is worthless, and that's simply amplified the weakness of our QB and RB. However, that still does not change the fact that Grossman still makes rookie mistakes, tries too hard and takes to many reckless risks. He definitely has a great arm, I'll agree, but his judgement is poor. I will say he's improved, but I disagree that he's improved enough.

Back to our running game, I'm eager to see what Wolfe and Forte have to offer, now that the Cedric circus has left town.

Wolfe is a 3rd down back. They can not run him inside the tackles like they did a few times last year, he will get killed. That leaves AP & the Rookie. Grossman is going to have some issues while the offensive unit tries to gel. The receivers need to gain separation, something they were not always able to do last year. Should be interestng..
