Chicago Wolves win Calder Cup!

With all of the Hockey fans on CLSB, I am surprised that no one has given our AHL team a cheer!
This team played good solid hockey all year and grinded out a tough playoff victory. They deserve to be respected. Besides...It will be at least a couple of years before the Blackhawks will be able to contend for Lord Stanley's cup and these guys are cheap and fun to go watch!
Unlike other teams in the AHL that turn over control to an NHL team, the owners keep control of the team and put together a team that can win almost every year...I wish some of the other sports owners in Chicago would pay attention!
Congratulations Chicago Wolves! Thanks for a great and fun 2007/2008 Hockey season!

It's amazing! The LAST hockey game of the 2007/2008 season was played in Chicagoland! When was the last time that happened?

it is awesome the Wolves won, again. But you do realize they used to be affiliated with the Islands, DiPietro played a few games for them and are now part of the Thrashers?

Yes, I know they are affiliated with the Thrashers and have had other affiliations with NHL teams. But, they do not allow the NHL club to dictate who is coach or who is general manager. That sets them apart from many other AHL and other minor league teams. They maintain as much control as they can, and I admire them for that.

Definately +1! My father got us tickets for last night's game on Monday night, got row 2 in section 205 (my favorite section to watch the games) for $15 each, no service charge! And the game rocked too! Biggest difference between that and the Wolves game however were no Ice Girls
