Sox vs Cubs world series

so its july 2nd

sox 48-35
cubs 50-34

both teams in first place in there divisions.

the question was posed to me, Do i want to see a Sox vs Cubs world series?

as much as id love to see it and how awsome the vibe would be from it, cub/sox fans are much different then yankee / met fans (was at game one of the 2000 yankee/met world series). im not talking about co existing during the series, im talking about after the series. The losing team fans are going to get so much shit and unless there team comes back asap it could be a life long listening of shit. sure its a fun hate right now, but the hate will be so much worse after said series. I could be wrong, but i think the passion we chicago team fans have, i dont think i am.

So what do you think? when the sox sweep the cubs in 4, will cub fans be able to show themselves in public?

j/k cub fans, either way this is a great year for baseball fans in chicago!!

Well, we've been showing ourselves in public for the last 100 years!
They don't call us diehard for nothing!

I grew up on the southside as a Cubs fan in the late 50's to the early 70's (Thanks Dad).
Taking abuse for the team is nothing new...... Imagine being the only kid at school, at scouts, etc. wearing a Cubs hat, when Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) else had Sox hats.

The Cubs will win a WS again, eventually. Gotta be patient.

Craig

Don't you know Chicago fans are extremely superstitious? Now when the Cubs fail to make it to the WS again, they are all going to blame you

Yeah, I don't think that those 6 or 7 games would be worth it, no matter who the winner/loser (Cubs) is. That's just bragging rights for life, and I think that Cubs and Sox fans really do bring tons of fun to the rivalry, because we're both good teams, and even when we're losing, we're still fighting for our teams (for example, no freakin way Pirates fans are fighting for their team ) I prefer to both make it to the World Series, both win the division series, and one gets taken out in the championship series while the other goes on to win the World Series (note, Cubs fans, that to do that, you have to at least win 3 games in the first round )

As long as it is a repeat of what happened in the 1906 series. Cubs were HEAVILY favored and the Sox beat them in 6. They say that history repeats itself, GO SOX!!!!
