One cocky ass fast mofo - Did you see him let up the last 15 meters of the 100 and still smoke the field?

How is bolts two gold medals with two world records more impressive than Phelps getting eight gold medals and five world records beat? Phelps in 2007 was the winningest athlete in World Championship history.

Now this guy on the other hand is a bad ass >

forget the medal count for a second, have you seen the dude run?

Phelps is clearly the best all-around swimmer in the world. hence he wins a lot of medals, since there's 11 billion swimming events.

there's 2 (3 if you count the 400) chances for a sprinter to prove himself. Bolt proved he's the fastest man in the world, and the fastest man ever, and made it look draw-droppingly easy

See I'm the exact opposite on this one. I much more enjoy seeing an athlete at this level being humble and gracious about winning. I would love to see him trip over his own shoes while going around showboating!

I hate Bolt's attitude. Letting up in the 100 was insulting. Besides, you never know when you are going to get an injury and never have another chance to perform like that.

Having said that, it's scary to think how fast he could be. He has some of the worst technique I have seen in years. If he sorts out his gait and can unlock his upper body, watch out.

As a sprinter, I used to watch the Marsh/Burrell/Mitchell/Lewis 1992 Barcelona 4x100 relay world record to psych myself up for trackmeets. Bolt's 100 almost has that same effect in the sense that it's just so dominating. He does have less than perfect form, but so did Michael Johnson. edit--- Correction- Johnson's was unorthodox.

OT: I never knew women's 100 times were so slow. There's high school men's track team members running times quick enough to medal in a women's olympic 100 at weekly HS trackmeets. Even I ran 10.7s. 15 years ago.

Give 'em some pads and teach him snap counts and routes

Yeah I don't agree much with the showboating... He however is young and from a country that seems to condone that attitude. That aside it would be nice to see what his full potential can be, it would also be nice if someone comes along and challenges his ability. That is probably the only thing that will make him take it seriously or more serious about not losing the title. Ego is a double edged sword!
