I gave the Bears little-to-no chance to win last night. I was pleasantly surprised. Go Bears!

Back to the usual debate. I still like Orton in there a lot more than Grossman. Orton may not be the best QB but he has that look of confidence in his eyes. I can see him being a much better leader than Grossman. Everyone has said it before. Grossman always had that deer stuck in the headlights look in his eyes whenever he got behind center. Orton does not

I'm happy the running game showed up yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised with the 100+ yard game from Forte yesterday. There weren't too many of those last year and to see a 100 yard game from a rookie against a team like the Colts is a good sign.

Unfortunately, overall our offensive line still looked like swiss cheese. Orton and Forte were able to still make things happen, despite it all, but I question how long that will last as the season continues. I still stand by my belief that it doesn't much matter who we have behind our center, be it Grossman, Orton, or even Farve... without a line to protect him, he's going down.

I'm curious to see how the running game holds up throughout the season. If the running game holds up, the quarterback problem might not be such a big deal. One of the problems we had last year was a lack of running game. That really helps out the defense to know that the running game sucks and is going to hinder the passing game.

It's amazing what can happen when they don't give up 200 yards to Indy's running game.

i only got the see part of the 4th qtr and i am happy for the bears but i wish i had seen more of the game to see how the D and O were holding up durring the rest of the game.

it is still early in the season so lets keep em crossed that no one gets hurt.

as everyone always says about Grossman. i wish this guy would get his shit together and just start performing unfortunetly i dont think that will happen while he is on the bears. i bet he will be a good qb after we get rid of him. lol

It was a good game that was well coached. Defense rebounded from preseason and Forte was a beast. Orton was everything I expected him to be, in that he didnt make any amazing plays, but he was consistent and came through when we needed it. I would like to see more from the passing game outside of our TE's, but I think that will come as the team builds more confidence and the running game gets more respect from the rest of the league.

+1 on being suprised. I'm stoked. this isn't a 'one-off' team --you know, with only focus on one player-- this is becoming a TEAM. Wow, that safety play will go down as a textbook tackle. Simply perfect.

Forte had a great opening game, Walter Payton approves, I'm sure. (note: Indy always was weak against the run, but still, Forte Rocked It!)

Neckbeard was excellent, given the circumstances and I got a kick out of Indy using their offensive timeouts when Manning didn't like what he saw on D.

Did anyone find it amusing that Orton pulled the Payton Manning approach when calling plays and audibles? I could help but crack up how he would do it, and still catch the defense off a bit. It was a bit ironic. I know that the Bears used him to mimic Manning when preparing for the SB, but I didnt expect this from him last night. I found it amusing...

While I wouldn't start celebrating yet, teams are gonna start stacking the line and forcing Orton to throw the ball. It could get messy when that happens. Indy was ill prepared, sloppy in execution, and Manning was rusty. I love the Bears, but i'm not holding my breath.

For all the questions that the Bears had coming into this season, I consider this to be a huge victory. Sure, it is only the first game, but the confidence that the team got from this game will definately help them out moving forward. To knock off a potential SB contender in the first game is a great way to build momentum and get a few wins under your belt. This could still be a long season, so I am going to savor every victory we get.

Yep, true that. Definately a great confidence builder for Orton, Forte, and the O-line. While the O-line still looked a little spotty, still much better than last year.

I'm predicting 9 and 7 and if we're really lucky 10 and 6. I'd like to see Minn pound the shit outta GB tonight.

I think the Bears should ban the longer sleeve version of their uniform. Orton and Lloyd were wearing them last night, and it was annoying the heck out of me. You can lead a team looking like that- you'll get no respect. Let's get him the updated one. Who do I need to talk to?

I was happily surprised as well. The defense looks very solid. It's good to have them all healty again. Hope they keep it that way.

Orton looked decent last night, but it didn't seem like the Indy defense was pushing that hard. When they did, the Bears offensive line folded as usual, and Orton didn't even have much of a chance to make a decision under pressure.

Forte was what impressed me the most. To come in and run with that confidence on your NFL debut is outstanding. He's flat out fast, and keeps his feet moving. STAY HEALTHY!!!!

GO BEARS!!!

...I do agree that the Colts looked sloppy last night.

go bears baby. way suprised by last night. everyone can say what they want but it looked to me like they crushed the colts. the bears did give up a lot of underneath passes but they stopped most of the deep balls and held indy to a ton of field goals and thats huge. i had high hopes for forte and he really came through and delivered.

i personally thought the O-line didn't play too bad. yeah there were times that there was pressure but what do you expect the guys on the other side of the ball are getting paid too. all in all i think the bears are back baby!!!

ps now if we could just get hester to stop acting like a jackass i'll be a happy camper.

I loved the Offensive play calling. I noticed a few times the Colts thought the Bears were going to run and showed blitz but they passed out of that and burned them for a nice pickup. Don't know if that was Orton or called in from the sideline.

Forte ran great as everyone saw, he has really good moves to make defenders move, and took the big hit. When Sanders put his helmet on Fortes shoulder, I thought that was it. He's going to be out the rest of the game. The kid came back and picked it up where he left off. That's what Benson was supposed to do. I like what the Bears did mixing in Jones at RB too. Getting Jones in there keeps both of the RBs fresh.

I'm with TDaytona, I don't like the sloppy, loose sleeves. But if he plays well, I wouldn't change a thing. Regarding Orton, he had some really nice passes. One to TE Olsen down the sideline and another to TE Clark who took it to the 1 yard line. Those were some nicely thrown balls. So was the third down pass to Lloyd for a first down.

The play Hester is getting crap for has worked in the past and will work again. Like the announcers said, he was trying to lull the other time to slow and he would just burst out of there for big yards. I like he creativity and wouldn't say a thing about it.

Da Bears!
