I think rex is better qb than Orton. If Rex had a o line that could protect him and maybe a receiver that could run routes. He would be a good qb. Its gonna be sad if he gets picked up in our division and destroys us like when Brian Griese did so last year.

If my calculations are correct, this will create ice... OH NO, KILLER MUSTARD GAS!

rex could be better than orton if he magically grew a foot in height. he can't see over the line.

NFL network ran a tape of the 1985 Bears/Packers game from Lambeau. Bears did not have a great game, but won 16 to 10. What made it fun to watch was Payton rushing for over 190 yards...what a wonderful memory.
If Grossman or Orton had the line that the Bears had then protecting them they'd both be much better QB's
Whereever Rex ends up, I wish him well...He DID get us to the Superbowl, even if the Bears did lose.

HAHAHA- I just watched this myself! It was the first game that season in which the Bears were not leading in the 2nd half.
McMahon was throwing some L-O-N-G passes (incomplete) Kind of like Rex.

Yes, great memories!

In all fairness, the defense was really carrying the team that year. Don't forget Devin Hester, he was a serious threat to opposing teams that year.

^^^ And Steve Fuller and the defense carried Jim McMahon's water ALOT in '85. It's a team sport...Rex made his contributions...His only problem is inconsistency...when he's on, he gets the job done. He will make another team a decent backup if he can restore the confidnce that was destroyed here. That's why I wish him well.

That was 3 years before I was born. No doubt Rex has talent, but you can't play in the NFL without talent AND consistency. Being amazing one game and utter garbage the next isn't good. Being medium the entire time would be better than the on/off thing Grossman had. I'm sure he will find a team to play for but the Bears have already wasted too many seasons on him. Its time to cut our losses and let him go.

rex can not hold his own when pressured. PERIOD! and he cant throw worth of shit. i have never liked that kid. hate to say it, but we shoulda kept the ex qb from pitz and worked around him. kordel could have been a great contribution.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

We would also have to make a rule that only short people can play D-Line for the opposing team as well.

+1

Watching Rex take the snap is disgusting. He takes it, moves back 5 feet, thinks "holy crap I'm gonna get killed out here!!!" Moves back another 5 feet and to the left and thinks "Be gentle!!!" Moves back 30 feet and thinks "Eff it, I can't take this anymore, I'm going down!"
