Soccer players wanted! (Feeler)

I know I've talked to a few people on here about joining a team as an extra player or whatever, but with no luck in the year since I've moved here I stumbled across a bit of luck last night.

I went over to the soccer field across the street from my place last night for a sprint workout and met a guy who's a younger professor at the Dominican University. He's been wanting to put together a pickup game night (or nights) during the week to play a little soccer. If anyone would be interested in playing during the week (looking at 1-3 nights depending on interest and availability) post up.

We'll be looking to reserve the field turf field that's in Forest Park (just off 290, directly between Des Planes and Harlem on Harrison). He's got a friend who works for the park district and is going to work on getting the field reserved for us. If anyone would want to get in on this, post up what and what days you'd be available. We'd (probably) look for after work - maybe 6 or so but that'd TBD. Shoot me a PM if you want to contact me directly.

Monday (starting next Monday - May 4th)
8:00 PM
Cost: $5-10
Field - Field turf - cleats, turfs, indoors work fine
Bring light and dark shirt

PM me for actual address if you want it, but here's the park location (Station Park):

Should be plenty of parking at the park, or else we have a slab where we can fit a few bikes behind our place or there's street parking out front as well.

oh man I would totally love to do this but I am very out of shape. Especially for playing with people who do sprint workouts.

Haha - I actually just started doing them to try to get back into some sort of shape. I did a triathlon thing over the last 2 months with my gym which helped but I'm trying to do part of my old (morning) 2-a-day practice as my workouts lately. I know I won't be in any sort of playing shape, but it'll just be for fun anyways. Give us a "yes" and let me know what time you'll be available

EDIT - I'll put a list of people on the first post so we can keep an idea of who's in.

I'd imagine riding motorcycles is safer than playing against G2G in a contact sport

I assume this is a full size field?
There is a smaller field here in Streamwood that is mostly empty on weekdays for some smaller games if we have fewer people.

As of right now it's a full field (Field Turf), but they have lacrosse nets there so we can do smaller games depending on the number of players.

As for the location, I am working with another guy who I met the other day at the field who's working on finding players to play at the same time. If it was just CLSBers then I'd be up for playing somewhere else (maybe in addition to this?) but since I'm trying to time it with another group we'll stick for this location for this particular event.

If you want to set up another day for games, I'd be in as a player so let me know!

I work a 9-5 job downtown. So weekends are fine. Weeknights depend on the location and if I can drive out there in time. -Only Thursdays are a no go (Vball league).

Ok didn't realize that we are joining another group....my concerns were due to there being only 4-5 people who said they are in for this.

Let's get this going soon.
