are the cubs toast this year?

do the cubs have any chance of catching up to the cards? or getting a wild card spot. not that many games left to make up 8 games and only a 3 game series later on with the STL.

i have not watched them this year because of the embarassing playoff performance int he playoffs last year. i guess i pick a good year to not watch them.

There only chance is the wild card. No way in hell they are catching STL right now.

You've got that backwards...no way they have a shot at the wild card. Their ONLY hope is to catch the Cards. BUT...their chance of doing that is fading fast. They'd have to rip a 7 to 10 game winning streak and beat the Cards every time they play them in the next 6 weeks...I'm a diehard Cub fan and I don't see that happening. This is not the team it was last year. I truly believe that the combination of off season personel changes and untimely injuries to key players have taken them out of contention. On paper, they should have had a much better year...but, as I've said before in threads about baseball...it is the most fickle of sports...AND...anything can happen, I'll watch to the end, but as far as stick & ball sports go I like the Bears to win their division and hang tough in the playoffs and I think the Blackhawks are only going to be better this year and are on the way up as a team...I don't care about Basketball...hopefully, the new owners of the Cubs will do what needs to be done to make a great paper team a great field team!

So much for the millions of dollars spent on talent. Maybe next year

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

The Cubs probably need to go 30-10 in their last 40 games and St. Louis needs to play sub .500.

Colorado, Atlanta, Florida, San Francisco are all ahead of them for the wild card.

For some reason, I thought they were a lot closer in the Wild Card race. Just looked it up...8 games behind STL, 7.5 behind the WC. Yeah, they're done, but I don't think anyone is really surprised by them anymore.

But the Blackhawks, now that's something we can agree about
