Attn Hoosiers: HB 1065 passes Senate, heads to House for review

From the NRA-ILA Release:

On Monday, February 22, the Indiana Senate voted 41-9 to pass House Bill 1065. HB1065 will now head back to the House for concurrence.

HB1065 would prevent state or local government authorities from confiscating lawfully owned firearms during declared states of emergency, such as occurred in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Moreover, this bill would also prohibit employers from firing employees who safely and lawfully store their firearms in their privately-owned locked vehicles while on an employer’s property.

+1 on that. While Indiana is set to pass a law to protect the right to own a weapon, I sit and hope I get my FOID renewal before the end of the month (has only been 50 some days since I sent it in) to remain in "compliance".

Illinois really, really blows. Yeah, I know- just move. I am only here so that my aging parents can see their only two grandkids as often as they like.

Daley Does D.C. To Support Handgun Ban
from Chicagoist by Marcus Gilmer

Annette Nance-Holt, her husband Ronald Holt, and Mayor Daley appear at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. in support of Chicago's handgun ban.; AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite

With the Supreme Court of the United States scheduled to hear arguments in McDonald v. Chicago (the case of the City of Chicago's handgun ban) next week, Mayor Daley is making the rounds in Washington, D.C. to garner more support for the ban. Daley appeared at the National Press Club along with a few other civic leaders from around the nation who support such local bans to keep communities safe. Gun rights advocates insist the ban violates Second Amendment rights. A similar ban in D.C. was overturned in 2008. Said Mayor Daley, "In this day and age when we think the right to bear arms in all of our communities that means any type of weapon. I don't think our founding fathers believed that these type of weapons would be on the street and to me every jurisdiction have a right to talk about the health and safety of their communities." Daley was joined by Chicago firefighter Annette Nance-Holt, and her husband Chicago Police Officer Ronald Holt, parents of Blair Holt, the teen shot and killed on board a CTA bus in 2007. The teen who killed Holt was sentenced to 100 years in prison last summer while an accomplice received a 10-year sentence.

Way to roll the crying mother who lost her child.
Asshole.
Let's also roll out some crying mothers who lost their kid any other # of ways and ban all of them.
Imagine that a car free city, where no sports are allowed and the lakes are covered in padded ABS plastic so nobody could drown, nobody could ever run as they might fall, bicycles should be outlawed as they are dangerous even with a helmet.. Obviously this could go on and on..

Guns Now Legal In National Parks

A law that took effect Monday makes it legal to carry loaded guns in national parks, as long as owners comply with state rules. What do you think?

Damn statistics.

Shame that political correctness is so strong a word...

Stupid statistics without bias could really point out some inconvenient truths.. Couldn't they?

I wish every asshole who rolled out shit like that was called on it.. Jesse Jackson come out talking smack and someone ask him why he "moved out of the neighborhood when he got money"
(just an example.. for all i know Jesse came from money.. )
