Anyone who's taken the class, anywhere you recommend?

I took it at GAT guns, $150 and way too many hours of my life. It was an interesting class, more about laws than about safety, most of us know how to handle a gun anyways. as the guy said "this course is not for the first time shooter"

Congrats, I just got my PA ccw last week. Now I'm probably going for my Utah & Florida. But I need to review the differences between all three before signing up at GAT guns.

Next Class at GAT guns is April 10/11 and May 15/16

Utah: $65.25/Valid 5 years/$10 to renew; requires a class only, no range time.

Florida: $117.00/Valid 7 years/$ 107.00 to renew; requires "training" and range exercise.

As someone who is not informed on this topic, can I ask...

Why do you want CCW permits in Florida, Utah and Pennsylvania?

That's pathetic You actually don't even have to hit the target? WTF is the point of carrying then?

Because states other than FL recognize the FL permit. So if he happens to come over to Indiana, he can carry. Along with OH, TX, and quite a few others.

IN won't cover OH though. That's the reason I'm thinking about doing UT, myself.

Because I'm too lazy to search on my own...

When carrying a concealed firearm will you get in trouble if someone notices a part of your holster or gun showing from underneath your shirt/jacket? What are the rules for being "concealed?"

Depends on the state. In most cases, it isn't a big deal.
In fact, open carry is 100% legal here, and there's a bunch of people that do so as a deterrent and political statement

But if it's a concealed carry only state you can't just walk around with your piece flashing about like a gangster rapper right?

One of the things they teach you about CCW; is to expect to have someone call the police on you, either through fear/ignorance or spite, and you having to prove you're legal to carry.

Most cops in CCW states are pretty cool about weapons. They will ask you if you're armed and you say "yes sir. And I have a permit...may I take my permit out and show you?" (making NO MOTION until they give you the OK). They check it out, and let you on your way.

If you are concealing properly, it shouldn't be a problem though. That's why a 1911 isn't a very good CCW weapon unless it's winter.
