Yugo SKS 59/66 opinions

Anyone here have one of these? I have a really nice one made in 1974, all numbers matching (except for gas tube), excellent bore, good wood and 98% or so finish.

Have yet to shoot it, have had it 4 years give or take, but my Pops put 10-15 rnds through it w/o any issue. He did not like it at all. Bought it cause at the time she was cheap, not so much anymore.

Are these "keeper" rifles? What do you guys think on these? Prices have gone up, and it looks like the Yugo's are pretty much gone now.

It's a shooter. Enjoy it. Don't get any ideas of putting anyone through school with it but it will always bring a couple hundred bucks.

This^

They are fun to shoot, and ammo is reasonable and they can be customized fairly cheap.

I put about 1000 rds through mine and it is definitely fun to shoot. It loves the knock-off mods, like the plastic stock kits and optics you get at the gun show for $20 haha. Goes from viet cong to tacti-cool in a few bolt-ons!
