I'm not that familiar with these, and I"m keeping .45 in the back of my mind for a purchase in a couple months. This would be for me since Brianne already has a .45

It's not bad.

I love H&Ks, but that being said, mags are expensive and the triggers can be shitty. I haven't shot an LEM trigger on a full sized USP, so that may be better.

With an H&K, you'll get something that's super reliable, can be abused and neglected, and will still keep shooting.

You know you really want a 1911...get a SA Mil Spec and trick it out as funds allow, or don't as it is pretty much fine as it is except for maybe some better sights. Para has a close model of this as well.

Get a 1911.

If you're going the polymer route, get anything but an HK. Overpriced pistol, overpriced mags, shitty triggers, and a bunch of hoighty-toity fanboys that make us Apple aficionados look like fucking saints of tolerance and humility.
All because it was on the cover of Rainbow 6. Wooptey freakin do.

I will get a 1911, I'm on the waiting list with Bob Miller Customs, but he's busy with school so I won't see that pistol for about two years. I'm having him make me a 1911 10mm Longslide with lots of custom machining. I'm still working out the details, but it's going to be geeky cool and *very* functional.

Thanks for the honesty. That's kinda what I was worried about. I'm still leaning towards the M&P .45 right now.

If you get the match trigger group (over $100 for some MIM crap and some springs) the trigger goes from shitty to OK. The little overtravel stop screw needs to be red locktited, otherwise it'll work loose and render the pistol useless until you can find a 1.5mm allen to readjust it.

The V1's are cool in theory, TDA or cocked in locked, but they're really not so hot in practice. If you shoot high thumbs, you'll probably end up de-cocking the thing during rapid strings. It's placed too low on the frame to shoot low thumbs and the lever is too wide to sweep when disengaging en route to low thumbs.

Then there's that whole obscenely high bore axis thing. You know it's bad when a USP9 has more muzzle flip than a Glock 20 with full house 10mm. Might as well get a Hi-Point. But then you'd have to move into the trailer park.
